Anyone think of a better left uppercut from the orthodox stance? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmxVi3Q4Xdc[/ame]
Well, your point on Kessler is valid. He's another of the stereotypical protected Euros, but in his case his slate doesn't reflect how good he was. I wouldn't have Calzaghe above any of those, he can have as many world title defences as he likes but it doesn't match up with what any of these have achieved. He allowed too many average champions to co-exist for too long, and waited too long before fighting world class fighters. I'd reckon I rate Benitez higher than you do, Tyson about the same and the other two lower.
That's understandable. His attitude cost him a much loftier ranking IMO, though there's certainly some awe-inspiring feats on hiss resume, as well as that talent.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiC-n9-XqL4[/ame] Love this uppercut watched the fight yesterday in high quality for the first time in ages. How Vitali was allowed out after the cut first came about I'll never know. Bit of a random post but Fleamans uppercut made me think of Lewis's.
Vitali is up there on ATG chins - surprising the disparity between the two Klitschko's punch resistance.
He has only taken bombs off one big puncher though....although Lennox is one of the biggest hitters in HW history :yep
True, but Lewis wasn't as dynamic as he could be. He'd been preparing for Kirk Johnson. I think, fully focused, Lewis woulda' treated Vitali like Ruddock or Grant to be honest.
totally agree. some people say Lennox is the best heavyweight ever based on head to head. as in Ali etc may have achieved more but Lewis would have beaten him had they fought.
Yep, Lennox would give Ali a good argument IMO. Ali would get off first once he'd judged Lennoxs jab IMO, and be too busy. Over 15, he'd get Lennox out of there late IMO. So odd, seeing how biased I am to old timers that I have Lennox at no.3 alltime, with neither Jack Johnson, Sam Langford, Gene Tunney or Jack Dempsey making my top ten :think
Riiiiight....how do I have rose tinted specs on then? And why is it o.k to be biased for 'modern' operators and not 'old timers? That's called hypocrisy :deal Surely the criticism I could level at you is that, with no knowledge of what I'm on about, you can't actually jdge whether I'm beig biased or not? I could tell you Tommy Loughran was one of the most awful sluggers I've ever seen who never deserved any pf the decisions he won over HoFers and you wouldn't be able to tell me otherwise would you?
