Freshmart is a lame duck, so this should be a clear victory for Badillo. 108 isn't a deep division, so someone like Badillo is a welcome addition should he become a champion.

He's always been a very good operator despite hiding away in Thailand for most of his career. Which he cant be totally blamed for considering he has money behind him and for the longest time no one has really cared about those divisions. Flying across the world doesn't really make sense fiscally speaking when you're the a-side in those divisions. It was only really possible to put on good shows in Asia for those fights. HBO in their dying gasps put more eyes on the lower divisions and the momentum thankfully didn't totally die off when they folded.
It's a real shame that the U.S. is ostensibly invading Venezuela, primarily because of the huge loss of life that has already resulted from it and also the massive effect it will have on the socio-economic balance of Latin America. But as a boxing fan, it means that the best Jr. Flyweight on the planet has been denied his chance to establish a real legacy with a respectable title run. Badillo vs Freshmart is a good fight and gets the division headed in the right direction after Teraji's move up, but really it should be Canizales versus one of these two men.
