While I generally don't approve of all these frivolous belts, I do support the Jalisco belt. I just don't see why a brit should be fighting for it. This should be an all-Mejicano belt. Isn't the WBC based out of Mexico anyways? This is no different than old timers fighting for the NYAC belt back in the day, and we still acknowledge them as true champs, even to this day... Mexico is a huge country, with many states, I think they should multiple belts representing each region, and those titlists could square off for some sort of national championship...and if WBC wants to take the first step in creating that, I fully support their efforts... To the Jalisco champion!! Vive el Gran Campéon de Mexico!!!
I don’t think you understand. This isn’t a real belt it’s just an honorary thing for this fight exclusively. Canelo won’t be defending it against anyone.
