"We expect to get the rest of them by the end of this week because we've received approximately 13 votes in favor of the Pascal rematch with Hopkins. Everyone agrees that it was a great match, and they would like to see rematch, and that they both deserve that fight. Only one has voted for Dawson to get the rematch first."

"They can vote all that they want. I have a contract that allowed for Pascal to have one interim fight after ours, and he fought Bernard Hopkins. And then, he would have to do the rematch with us," said Gary Shaw.

Whatever. HBO seems to toy with the WBC when it comes to champs.

Pascal wants a long break for this one... if Pascal-Hopkins II happens in May, winner vs Dawson might happen in ****in December.

god I hope Dawson doesn't get the rematch. You just know he's going to ruin the whole ****ing thing.

Let B-Hop have his damn day, there's 3 other belts you can go for, you twat. At least he didn't lose unanimously. ****ing Chad Boreson.

So if Pascal fights Dawson on HBO next, what happens? He's stripped of his belt?

And if he fights Hopkins on Showtime next, he gets sued by Shaw?

    Is that it?

That's ridiculous. The WBC has not a single reason to do that. What for? Hopkins was not even a mandatory fight for Pascal, and the decision was close but no rules have been broken. That organization is ****. Even if Pascal-Hopkins and the winner facing Dawson is good at the end, it's none of their business.

HBO people act like if they were a sanctionning body, and the WBC act like if they were
    promoters.

Hopkins should get precedence over Dawson. Real talk.

Hopkins vs Pascal and the winner gets Dawson is the idea.

you're right. I've totally read that on BLH. But okay...He has the RING belt? that's a more accurate "so what" to make at least.

Pretty much. Hopkins vs. some random scrub (probably Diaconu) for the WBC title.

There's at least a decent argument he isn't anymore, since he did officially retire to get out of his Universum contract.

This. And he wasn't even at LHW when he retired.

Yup. Just replied to that assertion about Erdei after referencing your article. Really well written articles on the sanctioning bodies:thumbsup

    I don't think that argument holds much water. Erdei's last three fights were;

Hopkins took his teeth out of the glass, put 'em in his mouth, got up out of his rocking chair, and went back into business! In so doing, he made a division that looked fairly dead get hot again. Personally, I'm thankful for that, and do not really care what order the fights happen in. As long as they happen, I'm good!
