Stop posting about belts, stop talking about belts and fighters will stop chasing belts.

You, I, We all are the reason the sanctioning bodies exist, thrive and multiply.

My guess is that Vitali Klitschko has a iron-clad clause in his contract that states, if he loses his belt, either he or Wladimir is entitled to an immediate rematch. Furthermore, it wouldn't surprise me that, if Vitali retires without losing the belt, then there's a clause saying that the WBC must allow Wladimir to fight an eliminator with whoever the WBC chooses as the #1 mandatory.

Why would Vitali have contract with WBC? WBC is just a sanctioning body. The rematch clause is in the contracts with opponents. As far as Wlad fighting for WBC belt then unification is the only way. WBC does not rank other beltholders so Wlad cannot fight for the vacant belt. The most plausible scenario is that WBC will have a box-off tournament for the vacant belt once Vitali retires. That will allow them to maximize the sanction fees and sell the future champ to the public. Wlad will probably retire by the time the dust settles.

Perhaps, but Don King will not give up on his boy Stiverne without a fight.

That's because WBC champ has to go through mandatory once a year. Adamek was counted as mandatory defense for Vitali last september. Siverne/Arreola goes to purse bid next week. I suppose they will try to force Vitali to fight the winner or wait for Vitali to retire or grant Vitali extension to fight Haye as voluntary if Haye can grow a pair. who the **** knows.

Maybe if Wlad can state he is somehow half Mexican, Jose gives him a shot at the WBC.

Either way, fighters make the belts, not the other way around. Whoever ends up the the WBC will be considered some "other guy with a belt."

Incorrect, the WBC is now pressuring Garcia to make a choice on what title to keep.
