Parker beats him due to styles, been saying it since the Zhang fight.

Would love to see this fight. Personally I think Usyk’s got this. However, he’s not young and there has been a measure of decline. If he’s still as good as his last outing, he should beat Parker imo - and in view of how Parker has been travelling of late, I think it would be a very good win.

I really hope this is what pans out next instead of the rematch with Dubois. Not just because of my own distaste for rematches, but also because I feel like Parker was about to get done pretty dirty. The whole point of the fight between Dubois and Parker was to determine which of these two guys on good win streaks were gonna get a crack at Undisputed.

Fighters get sick, and that's unfortunate, but instead of talking like they were gonna go right into the rematch for Dubois, they should have been talking about getting the fight with Parker rescheduled. Especially since Usyk's also said he doesn't plan on returning til the fall anyways, so that's plenty of time for them to have another fight camp, get the fight done and then have the winner rest up before going into a camp for Usyk later in the year. That's not even mentioning the fact that Dubois already had his crack at Usyk anyways.

It's still early days since the announcement of this mandatory, but the way Frank Warren spoke in that interview has me hopeful we'll get to see Parker get his chance :ggg

The right guy got the shot at Usyk. There's hope for this sport yet.

I can get behind this but as a fan of both fighters it's hard to compare their careers as they fought in wildly different eras. As good as Parker is, the quality of heavyweight drops off a cliff past the Top 5 or 6 right now. Tua has some mad stats behind him. 43 KOs in 52 wins, scalping 4 future or former Champions - Tuas career was impressive in it's own way.

I think you are doing him a disservice.

Plus Tua never had the alphabet soup behind him.He fought once ofr the title and that was it.
Parker has had 7 different fights to which a bogus "world champion"claim was made. His handlers have done well.
Tua destroyed John Ruiz in under 30 seconds. The same Ruiz who Don King got 12 WBA so called "title fights" of which he has lost half.
It s all politics and who you know and bribe.

The is only one champion, unlike Tua ,Paker has never even fought him or the predessor.

Securing a fight does not elevate a fighter's carreer. As @The G-Man mentioned, many title shots are given because of politics and promoters.

Carreer merits are about performance - otherwise Rocky Fielding would be treated as a better fighter because he got the Canelo fight.

Let's just see how Parker does against Usyk, will be pretty interesting to see.

Yeah yours is a good asessment.

Tua held a perennial Top 10 Ranking from 1996 - 2001. He was not a World Champion but was competing in an era vastly more competetive. Not to take away from Parkers accomplishments, but their career trajectories cannot be evenly compared.
