@Overhand94 @Wizbit1013 @Kiwi Casual @Badbot you can't deny the knock down from Whyte's left hook in round 9, timestamped it again:

Usyk-Parker is a much more meaningful fight than another unnecessary rematch for Usyk.

Usyk-Dubois was not competitive. Dubois tried to resort to illegal tactics, but thankfully there was an honest referee working the fight.

An honest referee? Isn't it interesting the way we all see things differently. He was essentially fighting at home in front of his own crowd. Had that been anywhere else the result would have been different.. and if Usyk had dropped Dubois with it, nobody would be calling it low.

Hey man, that's your, and many people's opinion and that's cool. I ain't looking for an argument, simply stating my opinion. I have watched boxing for years and had a few scuffles over the years and yes, I've seen shots like that called low, but more often I've not. So, it WAS debatable, and I think it was OK. It's the one time Usyk went down in my opinion after the fight saying he was never hurt and claiming he'd been punched in the balls. Usyk is built different if his balls are where he was hit. It would have been much more in character of he'd simply said he was caught with what he, and the referee thought was a low blow, so took the time due to him and went on to win the fight.

It's not a matter of opinion. According to the rules, every shot below belly button is low, and this one clearly was.

All the pictures I saw, stills, show a brutal body blow sinking into the belly button area. Could it have been low? Possibly. Could it have been legal. Possibly. Usyks shorts as most fighters are, were well above his belly button, hence the ambiguity. If you saw that as 100% I arguably low, fair play to you, how can I argue. The point it, you can't see his belly button and unless we are saying any punch on the shorts is illegal, it's all conjecture...but interesting nonetheless

There are pictures showing the shot with belly button exposed and the shot clearly lands lower.

I'd be interested in seeing those. How do you post an image because I'd happily post up the ones I've seen.

Yeah, that's the thing, it's hard to post images in here.

No worries man, thanks. Even that picture ain't conclusive, is it? Always interesting to chat with people with differing views. Revisiting it after all this time, opinion is split from pro boxers and referees which certainly suggests it was controversial. Bottom line, had it been called, I suspect Usyk would have gotten up and the result would have been the same.
