    Potentially.

    Because you're able to get an opponent from the back of beyond, who will probably fight for next to nothing.

    So long as he's not got AIDS or has several stoppage losses in a row he'll get a licence to fight.

    You can bill the show as ''world championship boxing'' and probably sell a fair amount of tickets.

    Obviously these days there's no TV money for those kind of fights, but I'd imagine most WBU ''champions'' were making more than the British champion in their weight class during the organisations heyday.

    Hatton is a different case entirely, he was probably making more than most ''genuine world champions'' at 140, certainly in 2003 when he was fighting the likes of Phillips and Tackie.

    Fighting bus drivers like John Bailey he'd have been on more reasonable wages I'd imagine.

    Depends how they are marketed, but I would imagine it would be very similar or more.

    To be fair, Hatton fought better opponents than some "genuine" world champs Ive seen

    Foreman v Schulz. What a night that was - British officials were banned at the time from working at a WBU fight. It was classic, trust me.

    he was definitely not a great fighter. No disrespect to him but you're being very kind to him, I'm not being a **** but I think you've lost your mind calling Micky Ward a great fighter. The first fight was an amazing fight, the other two were good fights
