Burns outclassed a tough and game Flynn ,winning almost every round in a good fight.

After a fine career, he lost the first fight. At the time, HW champs got an immediate rematch. Who was Liston going to fight in mid-63? Regardless of the initial outcome, it was Floyd and Sonny again. If you're one that wants to rag on Floyd's fine career that's fine, but dissing a HOF great isn't something I'd feel comfortable in doing.

Surprised Richard Dunn hasn't been mentioned.

Patterson was knocked down 3 times when he challenged Liston in 1963. The final time he was counted out.
This was in 2 minutes and 10 seconds of the first round.

I don't know of a weaker showing for a HW challenger. I don't care what his age was.

Coopman,Rodriguez were bad for Ali and Holmes but Tony Ross was horrible as well for Johnson...easy pickings....Ali had some very tough fights but also picked a lot of easy guys like Wepner, Coopman and Blin, Holmes fought many of the easiest picks of his day but cant say it on ESB

Brian London's performance against Ali was pathetic.

BIG UKRAINIAN..TY Biggs put up a better display against Tyson than Spinks,Williams,Berbick,Tubbs etc..

Spinks effort v Tyson was pathetic. Only surpassed by Seldon.

How about the guy who Foreman had his first defence against..think his name was 'Roman' ?

Klitschko had defended against some poor looking fighters..

    Deffo Richard Dunn....

Not that he hadnt been a good fighter but the drug riddled version of Dokes that was wheeled on to be whacked by Bowe.

He was rising, as he was rising in the 1st Liston scrap, as he rose 7 times against Ingo in their 1st scrap. This 'china chin BS' against Floyd upsets me. IMHO Floyd looked better at the end of the two Liston losses than Lennox Lewis did when he got SLAMMED twice!
