For such a highly touted division by many its actually starting to decline, its in a dismal state outside of a few bright spots.
Outside of Mayweather and Pacquiao, the division is in pretty weak shape.

Brook, Thurman, Spence, Algieri, Porter, Maidana, Ponomarev, Ali are bright spots yet the first 3 are still somewhat unproven, and could easily falter.

Bradley, Marquez, Guerrero, Rios, Alvarado, Khan, Alexander are all on the decline.

Ortiz, Berto, Judah, Senchenko, Prescott, Cano, Malignaggi, Dan, Bizier, and Collazo washed up shells of what they were, in some not much good to start with.

Vargas, Abregu, Decarie, Bundu, Gavin, Zewski, Spence, Chaves, Dan, Kamegai Omotoso all question marks or on the decline...

Even the possibility of Provodnikov, Garcia or Matthysse moving up they have been somewhat exposed in the past year, so its questionable if even they will be effective at WW.
Still there is no one who even pose a vague threat against Mayweather and Pacquiao.
For such a recently strong division its showing signs of starting to fall apart.
    What's your opinions?

    Update:
Thurman Still a ? Looked terrible late against Guerrero and Collazo
Porter exposed by Brook But Still a potential player
    Brook
Bradley Starting to have ? Almost KO'd by Vargas.
    Maidana Okay But AWOL

    Guerrero
Rios looked good beating up a meth head.
    Alvarado Shot Its Over
    Khan Still sucks
    Alexander Gatekeeper?

Gavin looked even worse against Skeete. Just Added: Terrible against Brook
Abregu looked real bad against Ali
Chaves not good enough to actually beat any legit guys

I think you said it pretty well. A couple years ago it looked promising with Lucas, Devon, Danny, Amir etc possibly moving up. Now we have the top guys retiring in a year and a hanfull of guys who have disappointed.

I agree with you except for Alexander, but they are the bright spots I was talking about, I still think Guerrero has more in him, even though many don't.

I doubt they would stand much of a chance against the ones you mentioned earlier.

It's clearly worse than that bunch, but I was literally referring to maybe 2/2+ years ago.

It got a boost when Marquez, Bradley, Alexander, Maidana, and Guerrero moved up full time from JWW.

Which was very short lived, the luster quickly came off of all of them, although still they put on decent fun fights, without a career building purpose, the whole division is stagnated.

Porter or Brook will be devalued quickly once one loses, then the division all falls on One Time's shoulders and the winner of Porter Brook, none of which would be a significant threat to May and Pac.

Also how long does it take for Thurman and Porter to outgrow the division they both started at JMW anyway, they will abandon the division as well leaving it in really bad shape.
