Lamont Peterson is still the IBF champion there. :rofl

Matthysse took that **** and his soul but that dumbass catchweight...jeez.

If D.Garcia somehow by some act of god loses to Salka tonight yet keeps his belts the whole of boxing will start to melt...

The worst part is watching promo's and the conference talks with them fake fcks trying to sell that ****.

Matthysse, Molina, Herrera, Provo, Postol, Algieri slightly bright spots, and that's pretty much it.

    Broner and Vargas who cares.
Danny will be out the door soon. I'm rooting for a Salka win, that would be beautiful.

Every division is really going through the same thing the names of the previous era are all about done with the sport now its on the newer generation to show who will be the new crop of top dogs.

As far as how the division is now compared to a few years back I'd say its better as a whole you got ATG's like May, Pac, JMM who are better all time than Cotto, Mosley, Hatton you have younger HOF caliber fighters like Bradley, Alvarez, Guerrero who are already more accomplished than Margarito, Clottey, Williams and you have the potential stars like Thurman, Porter, Garcia who have already shown themselves above guys like Berto, Quintana's ect...out of the top 4/5 WW from 07-09(Cotto, Mosley, Williams, Margarito, Clottey) only two are HOFers out of the top 4/5 currently(Mayweather, Pacquiao, Bradley, Maidana) only Maidana you can argue isn't going into the hall.

    Mayweather
    Pacquiao
    Khan
    Guerrero
    Maidana
    Garcia(if all goes well soon)
    Brook
    Porter
    Marquez
    Bradley
Broner(if he decides to move up again)
    Thurman
    Karass
    Malignaggi
    Lopez
    Alexander

My goodness, it can't be any weaker and more pathetic! No offense but your negativity and observation is nothing but pathetic, baseless and embarrassing. "Yeah, there are big names but they will all be exposed soon!". :patsch

No offense but your being far too positive.
How many fans want to see Pacquiao fight anyone on that list except for Thurman, Maidana and Porter maybe Khan.
I wouldn't mind seeing him fight most of them, but I'm not sure many would agree with me.

Where did I say they "will all be exposed soon", the big names people have been touting are unproven thus far, maybe they live up to the hype, maybe they don't. The guys moving up maybe they get embarrassed like Broner maybe not.

I'm just pointing out for one of the more popular divisions its starting to look weak.

With all the names mentioned and the possibility of all facing each other you're still insisting that it's a weak division?

I don't know about you but when you say "the unproven ones have a possibility to falter" it sounds like "they will be exposed eventually". Losing isn't the end of a fighter's career, as proven countless times already and this division is packed with major names that can all bring major exciting fights.

there's a lot of great fights to be made in the division actually. OK, they're not the A team or anything, but still fights to get the blood pumping.

the problem is getting these fights made, not the potential match-ups.

Thurman, porter, brook, mayweather, ruslan, pac, bradley, chavez, marquez, maidana, and ill leave one spot open for a wildcard option for fighter #11 (even when we fill out 10 spots... theres still rios, khan and a few others to list )

Idk... im not complaining with this group. I like it.

    Got some atg's
    Got some brawlers
    Got some boxers
Got some solid prospect / contenders
    Got some established vets

Nah i like this era... its very much in a change of guard but i like it.

Weak? Eh... i dont think its overly weak really. No golden age maybe but not weak, imo

To each their own though :good

It means possibility to falter, not guaranteed, you know how people are when someone loses, casual fans want nothing to do with them anymore, while I don't necessarily subscribe the that way of thinking, when Porter and Thurman lose, they will be considered overhyped exposed bums, you know that as well as I. Most people consider Bradley and Guerrero to be bums:patsch. Still the division is not as strong as it was a few years ago.

No, I don't know that and I'm not stupid to use what ******s, trolls and general internet losers think as legitimate information when predicting the future in the sport. Ali came back from a loss or losses and so did Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, Foreman, Frazier, Norton, Pacquiao, Cotto, Martinez, Robinson, Hopkins, Khan, Morales, Barrera, Marquez, both Klitschkos, Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe, Lewis and the list is endless.

Most people think Bradley and Guerrero are bums?, who are "most"?, 20 ******s on this site? :patsch

    Whats a couple years ago?

Lets look at the top 10 from 2011... (according to ring)

    1. Manny Pacquiao
    2. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    3. Victor Ortiz
    4. Andre Berto
    5. Vyacheslav Senchenko
    6. Kell Brook
    7. Mike Jones
    8. Jan Zaveck
    9. Selcuk Aydin
    10. Shane Mosley

    2010

    1. Manny Pacquiao
    2. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    3. Andre Berto
    4. Miguel Cotto
    5. Shane Mosley
    6. Joshua Clottey
    7. Jan Zaveck
    8. Vyacheslav Senchenko
    9. Rafal Jackiewicz
    10. Timothy Bradley

That really so much better than today? Personally, I dont think it is.

Youd really have to go back to the 2006 to 2009 era before I think the divisions top 10 really outshines today....

Calm down, Boxing is not as popular as it use to be, and times have changed, its getting harder and harder to sell the sport to mainstream audiences, and unfortunately the ******s on the internet are in many cases hardcore fans.
When guys lose now days their careers don't recover quite as well as they did in the old days. I love Bradley and I'm a big fan of Robert, but if the ******s on this site think they are a joke, what does everybody else think, they're afterthoughts, as sad as that is. I didn't say it was fair.

There are far too many fighters I've seen written off lately to think anything otherwise, we are living in an incredibly disposable society.

Okay, I'm not reading the rest of your nonsense. Do yourself a favor and follow another sport.
