I thought Mayweather fought a very intelligent fight. He took his man into deep water, and put him under. Indeed, the book on this fight was Mayweather by UD, or late stoppage. However, I felt he punctuated the win exceedingly well in the 10th. A very good win. I'd certainly like to see unification in this division. It's probably the hottest division in boxing, and as long as Floyd is going mention himself along with the likes of Robinson, Ali, and others, he might as well attempt to unify a title in an elite division while he's at it. I'd like to see a show of hands as to who you think would come out on top. At the moment, we have: Floyd Mayweather Jr.: The Ring & WBC Champ Paul Williams: WBO Champion Miguel Cotto: WBA Champion Kermit Cintron: IBF Champion** **Cintron is currently injured. It is reported to be severe ligament damage in his hand. He was slated to unify with Williams, but due to the injury, it has been reported that Williams will face Quintana in the interim. As stated in another thread, Antonio Margarito could indeed be put in as a substitute for Cintron. Bob Arum had talked about putting Cotto in with Margarito in this past year, and it is conceivable that a contractual stipulation could be put in place for Cintron to be given #1 contender status at the end of the tournament. I have a gut feeling that Cintron will be on the shelf for a while. Taking that into account, for the sake of this poll, I will sub Margarito for Cintron. Count one vote here for Paul Williams.
