Interesting fight, Miguel was pressed but he landed the harder punches clearly, was tired in the last rounds though.....Wajima´s workrate was very good.

Gee imagine that another hometown robbery... I was actually thought Matthysse was dominate enough in round 7 to warrant a 10-8 round, but against better judgement I changed it too 10-9 being that Devon was trying to fight back. Even still the score should have been 96-93 Matthysse. That makes 2 bull**** decisions Alexander has received at home, disgraceful :verysad

Amir Khan-Lamont Peterson

Round 1: 10-8 Khan. Should have been 10-7, but the referee ruled the first time Peterson went down a slip. Sign of the bias to come. Khan landing more and cleaner punches anyway though.

Round 2: 10-9 Khan. Peterson does better this round, but Khan still lands more punches, and cleaner ones.

Round 3: 10-9 Peterson. He controlled the tempo and seemed to outland Khan and boss him around this round.

Round 4: 10-9 Peterson. Khan does better than he did in round 3, but Peterson still landed harder punches and again controlled the pace.

Round 5: 10-9 Khan. Khan was able to keep his distance and outbox Peterson this round.

Round 6: 10-9 Khan. Peterson was a bit better here than in round 5, but Khan still outlanded Peterson from range, and landed some solid shots too.

Round 7: 10-8 Peterson. Peterson really turned up the heat this round and got through with some solid shots. Khan did more running than boxing. Still, a dubious point deduction.

Round 8: 10-9 Peterson. Peterson again controlled the pace and got through with some hard shots. Khan did not control the distance or box well in this round at all.

Round 9: 10-9 Khan. He did not box very effectively this round, but he still managed to get the better of the exchanges and land with more authority than Peterson. Khan also rocked Peterson in the middle of the round, swinging it for him.

Round 10: 10-9 Khan. While close, Khan landed more, stayed off the ropes, and was able to prevent Peterson from doing any quality work. Khan's flurries>Peterson's arm punches in the clinch, basically.

Round 11: 10-9 Peterson. Khan spent more of this round spoiling than fighting in my opinion. Even though Peterson's work wasn't necessarily quality, it was still more work than Khan.

Round 12: 9-9 Draw. It would have been 10-9 Khan had it not been for the point deduction. Khan was able to keep off the ropes, where Peterson had done his best work in the fight, and outland him from range for the most part. Peterson was again unable to do work of the same quality that he had managed earlier in the fight.

Final Score: 113-112 Khan. Very close fight, but I felt Khan edged it. I also thought Cooper robbed Khan of a second knockdown in round 1 by calling it a slip, and that he was a little biased in not warning Peterson/deducting points for his wrestling/occasional holding and hitting. However, Khan definitely did do plenty of spoiling, and perhaps deserved one point deduction. Nevertheless, the timing of both deductions was iffy.

Thoughts: Peterson on roids is relentless. Great stamina, very hard to discourage. He still doesn't have power though, even with roids. As for Khan, he really needs to learn how to integrate movement and attacking more effectively if he wants to jump to the next level. Too often, it seems he'll linger in one place for a brief time, throw a flurry or two flat-footed, and then run to another spot and do the same thing. He needs to be able to throw solidly while on his toes on the move. He can hit with solid power when he actually sits down on his punches, too, but he doesn't do that enough either.

In short: While somebody who fights like Peterson will always give Khan style problems, if he had a more refined style and was smoother, and better at infighting, he would be a much more effective fighter and won the fight more clearly.

 

Juan Martin Coggi KO3 Patrizio Oliva . watched it about a week ago . what i remember is that Coggi was much more aggressive and that Oliva showed nothing special . Neither did Coggi , Xcept from winging some punches and ordinary aggression .

Despite being hampered by injury Chang looked excellent against Zapata in their first meeting.

Especially in the early rounds.

Very fast feet.

Actually it's very hard to find a better performance from Chang.
Especially considering his prime was very short.
I'm not taking into consideration fights against lesser opposition, of course.
