Yeah :deal, vs Mercedes....that´s the one I watched that made me think he was more a wild warrior type and not too skilled....

He was more measured against Chang, guess he was smarter against aggressors and aggressive against boxers...Mercedes was slippery and countering well in that fight, Torres had to obliterate him.

rayrobinson333=best channel ever, was going to get Hwong Vs Sukhothai on my next purchase, don't need to now :happy

True, from what I've seen Bonavena reminds me a little of his older countryman Godoy. Both strong, crude and made great fighters look average at times.

    The finish was awesome.

My favorite all round Ali performance (of which I have seen thus far), is the first Liston fight. It was a nice performance, but more importantly for me it was a real test of his heart (substance in the eye).

Then there is the Williams performance, which is nigh-on perfect. Then again I am still to see all of post-exile Ali.

The Williams performance doesn't impress me just because of who it was against. Williams was not at his best, coming off being shot, and stylistically had nothing to offer Ali. I'm far more impressed with 'The Greatest' when he takes on someone who is capable.

As a performance I just find it nice to watch. I'm with you, this was not Ali's greatest test by any means whatsoever.

In this instance don't you find more impressive wins than Bonavena? I know the way he ended matters was stunning but for 14 rounds Ali labored with a good but limited opponent.

Yeah, of course. At least a live body which Williams was not.

Just finished watching Esparragoza D12 Marcos Villasana, and I have to say, I also had it a draw......uneven performance from the more talented Esparragoza, as he seemed to lose the thread at critical times during the bout. For a round or maybe two at a time, he was busier and kept turning the Mexican in close, which worked wonders as he piled up points. But then he'd stop doing that and began backing up in a straight line too much. He wasn't hurt except for maybe being a bit buzzed in the 11th at one point, but I got the impression he wasn't in the kind of condition Villasana was, who always came to fight and simply couldn't be discouraged by human hands.

    Esparragoza - Villasana

    1: 9 - 10
    2: 10 - 9
    3: 10 - 9
    4: 10 - 9
    5: 9 - 10
    6: 10 - 9
    7: 9 - 10
    8: 10 - 9
    9: 9 - 10
    10: 10 - 9
    11: 9 - 10
    12: 9 - 10

I seem to be the only one who hasn't has it a draw or to Villasana! Although I agree Villasana came back into it at the end. Maybe a rematch and rescore is in order...

    Vitali vs Sanders , 4 about d 4th time .

Had it been a prime McCall / 4man / Valuev / Bowe or even Holyfield or Sanders there with Vitali , he would have gotten his S drilled .

Sanders ran out of gas early , after winning d 1st rd and from there on it was mainly Vitali's inability 2 finish more than anything else .

This fight this time convinced me 2 list Vitali as d 4th in my h2h (S)HW list .

Watched Holley Mims give Jesse Turner and George Johnson quite the paintjob the other day, top performances by Mims in both bouts over quality opponents.

Mims controlled the action vs Turner throughout the first 7 rounds of available footage, displaying a very accurate and snappy jab that he used to tattoo Turners face with in every round causing swelling over both his eyes.

Excellent foot movement as well from Mims, who was constantly on the move in this bout and rarely had his back touch the ropes and stay there for a spell as he was wont to do at times, in this fight he had his dancin shoes on kept turning Turner into knots.

Dropped him flat on his back in the 7th courtesy of a left hook as he was backing into the ropes for one of the rare moments in the fight, Turner got up and finished the round but took a pounding before the bell rang to save him.

Against Johnson he allowed him to settle into the role of aggressor in the early rounds while he himself played the role of counterpuncher, which he did very well throughout the fight when the occasion called for it.

The fight was more or less even after 5 rounds with perhaps a slight edge to Mims, but in the 6th towards the end of the round Mims badly rocked Johnson with a series if vicious hooks and uppercuts all of which found their mark.

The bell saved Johnson from a certain KO as he tottered back to his corner on unsteady legs at the end of the round. He never seemed to recover either from that onslaught to end the 6th as Mims had his way with him for the next three rounds until flattening him with another vicious series of punches.

Johnson had him pinned against the ropes and was wailing away on a defensive Mims when he suddenly came alive and landed a succession of vicious and accurate punches that had Johnson reeling into the ropes and finally finished him off with a smashing overhand right cross right on the kisser, dropping him face first over the bottom ring rope while out cold.

Two great performances by Mims, who showed off his underrated counterpunching ability in both of these fights and his ability to play possum effectively while trapped against the ropes only to explode with violent and explosive punches on his foes with deadly accuracy.

Very underrated fighter is Holley Mims, this guy would have been a handful for any top middleweight that ever lived inho. And one more observation about Mims, for a guy who was all of 5`7 in height he has to have some of the longest arms I have ever seen for a man that height, freakishly long arms on Mims if one looks closely and he knew how to use his reach effectively too.

    Israel Contreras KO1 Wilfredo Vazquez
Vazquez butted Contreras in d corner , probably unintentionally , but possibly intentionally , but still got KOd by Contreras .

It was said that Contreras took d fight on short notice and above his usual fighting weight because he said he needed that American exposure .
