Well I 4got about him, I always think of Senior, and when I did not understand I thought of Hugo R.I.P and still did not understand it.

 

Well for a change, me and you are in agreement there. I didn't get it either and only thought of Chavez senior.

 

How did you score Gavilan-Basilio and Zapata-Nakajima 1, Flea?

 

LMR-Bahama 2

This was a short fight and me dipping my toes into the water of Rodriguez footage

What I saw from LMR was a style similar to Oscar's but much more skilled. Great head movement, footwork and what a jab! He controlled the pace and the distance well, jabbed with purpose and intent and worked the body well when inside. He also knew when he had Bahama hurt and consistently followed through with aggression.

I re-watched Lewis/Holyfield II....hadn't seen it in awhile. Man Holy did some real good work when Lewis was inactive. Stole a lot of rounds and I had it 7-5 for Lewis (clearly though)

Imagine Holy had gotten that decision if he just worked a little bit more? What a legend, and this is coming from a monster Lennox lewis fan. Close fight, good fight. Shame that wasn't their first bout.

 

Great damned fight. Best Holyfield I ever saw.

I liked Gavilan's late rounds rally - I'd say he edged it.


But I didn't like Zapata's pathetic offense and Nakajima scored regularly with right hands.

No wonder japanese fans went crazy as soon as the decision was announced.

Nakajima got robbed in his own country.:-(

Cotto got around Baileys stiff rangey jab and right hand early to land brutal shots to the liver from which he never recovered.
A masterclass in body punching.

 

Nakajima was a tidy boxer-puncher wasn't he.

Shame he faded from relevance so early, though he did seem to have some serious chin issues.

 

He did look like a capable fighter.

If I'm not mistaken Zapata beat him far more convincingly the second time.
