Marquez is borderline great at feather as far as H2H is concerned.

Marquez vs attacking-type of fighter like Pac/Juanma/LittleRed etc - Marquez will give them hell.

But even in his early fights/younger days he struggled with movement.

Relatively bad at forcing the fight/not good enough with his feet/natural counterpuncher.

Winstone, Famechon, Pep, etc would have been horrible fights for him.

Watching Sanchez vs Gomez. Such an incredible, classic fight. I can't get over how great Sanchez was.

Leonard Vs Hagler = Lived. Up. To. The. Hype!

The word epic should never be used unless describing this battle.

    1 - 10-9 Leonard
    2 - 10-9 Leonard
    3 - 9-10 Hagler
    4 - 10-9 Leonard
    5 - 9-10 Hagler
    6 - 10-9 Leonard
    7 - 10-9 Leonard
    8 - 9-10 Hagler
    9 - 9-10 Hagler
    10 - 9-10 Hagler
    11 - 9-10 Hagler*
    12 - 9-10 Hagler

Result: A very close 113-115 Hagler

    * I felt although people often give Ray this round based on his fast flurries, many of them were innacurate and glancing blows and the shots which did land had no snap in them unlike Hagler who still had his power and was landing clean, effective blows which seemed to hurt Ray.

Overall a close close fight with some tight rounds throughout however there were a few mistakes I feel Ray made, at least in my eyes, where he would hit Hagler and then jump on him and try to hold which, instead of nullifying Hagler, it allowed Marvin to get some good effective inside worked done to the body of Leonard which Ray was basically defenceless to as he was holding. Also there were severall cases where Ray seemed to fight for parts of the round whereas Hagler whether he was being effective or not worked for every second of the round.

Although I see these as mistakes perhaps the judges, admitedly without the benefit of camera angles etc. saw the speed of Rays punches and not the effectiveness of them thus awarding the close rounds to Ray.

Saying this Leonard executed his game plan and got the W and I don't dispute it. I cannot argue with a 115-113 decision to Ray but I think 118-110 is beyond the scope of even remotely probable.

Still a great fight betwwen two all time greats who came to give the fans a true boxing match no matter the outcome.

There was a poster in here who made a thread about a week ago saying he was retireing from ESB and getting himself banned because he needs to focus on work for the next year or so. He made some arguments about HW's and gave some stats about diminishing returns for weightlifters i wanted to read again but his thread seemes to have disappeared. Anyone know if it was deleated or what the posters name was?

Found it thank you kindly. This is what i was interested in.

This is simply untrue--as size increases, muscle efficiency decreases. Or, as Nick Hudson put it so well in another thread, "Muscle force scales with the square of the linear dimension, while muscle mass scales with the cube of the linear dimension". The law of

. Even fighters in Marciano's weightclass (if we use Olympic and powerlifting totals to figure out the maximum power output of a fighter their size) should hit about 90% as hard as a "superheavyweight".

Yeah you have tons of other examples in other sports. Bob feller threw as hard as anybody as did Lincecum for a few years at least.

Had to google that, thought you were talking about shot put. Baseball...it would be more applicable using examples from Mens sports.

    Calzaghe vs Hopkins

    1 - 8-10 Hopkins
    2 - 10-9 Calzaghe
    3 - 9-10 Hopkins
    4 - 10-9 Calzaghe
    5 - 10-9 Calzaghe
    6 - 10-9 Calzaghe
    7 - 10-9 Calzaghe
    8 - 10-9 Calzaghe
    9 - 10-9 Calzaghe
    10 - 9-10 Hopkins
    11 - 10-9 Calzaghe
    12 - 10-9 Calzaghe

    Calzaghe win 116-111.

Calzaghe adapted and took control and Hopkins wasn't able to keep up with the pace perhaps feeling his age. Overall a decent fight between two legends.
