I am going to watch Alexander-Matthysse and Matthysse-Judah properly as well. If Matthysse is victor of these two bouts, he's a clear monster...to have the edge on boxing skills against Alexander and Judah + have KO power + Matthysse now looking out for the KO's even more than before so his game is more centred around the bigger punches = Be extra careful Mayweather.

    I'll report the scorecards too.

    Matthysse-Alexander
    Round 1:
Matthysse - quite even but Matthysse landed numerous hard blows on
Alexander, and really took it in the final minute, I couldn't have it any other way.
    10-9 Matthysse

    2:
Very slick movement from Alexander, very impressed. Matthysse landed huge shots but not as frequent, Alexander was slipping punches. Alexander's round by far although Matthysse held very good account of himself.
    9-10 Alexander

    3:
Alexander is a very good fighter from distance, Bradley did well by getting on the inside. Matthysse hasn't done it yet.
No doubt Alexander won this, in and out with his punches.
Compubox is chatting ****, through 3 rounds Matthysse hasn't scored only 4 punches less than Alexander
    9-10 Alexander

    4:
Knockdown, not a hard one but hey, 10-8 baby potentially.
Matthysse brings on the onslaught, huge punches straight after.
Alexander is now ducking punches very well, elusive.
    Nice combination mid-round by Alexander
    10-8 Matthysse

    5:
Weak but efficient combination by Matthysse.
Alexander landing more punches in this round, Lucas dong well but
Alexander still the clear victor here.
Alexander takes control in the last minute.
    9-10 Alexander

    6:
Alexander more busier, landing more punches, Matthysse landing the big body shots, Alexander getting in weak hitting combo's.
This round belongs to Alexander, the last 40 seconds specifically makes me have it no other way. It was relatively even but with the slight edge to Alexander, now the last 40 seconds really made this Alexander's round.
    9-10 Alexander.

7: Matthysse landing big shots, Alexander being relatively inactive.
Matthysse is damaging Alexander and he must act. Easy work from Matthysse. Most dominant round of the fight without a doubt. Alexander is being broken down here, the punches are really starting to show.
    10-9 Matthysse

8: Matthysse comes in landing the harder shots.
Alexander being ineffective with his punches.
Matthysse is doing very well attacking to the body.
What is Alexander doing being on the ropes?
Nice shots by Matthysse. If this was a 12 rounder, TKO12 Matthysse.
    10-9 Matthysse.

9: Alexander now doing better. It's going to take an onslaught for Matthysse to catch up coming into the last minute.
Combinations by Alexander, far more slick.
A few good body shots by Matthysse, but not enough to win the round.
    9-10 Alexander

10: Big left hand to start the last round. Matthysse landing big shots.
Big shots by Matthysse. Alexander crawled his way back with combinations going into the final minute. Even so far.
Matthysse getting the edge leading into the last 30 seconds.
The most even round, but on damage, Matthysse definitely takes the round.
    10-9 Matthysse.

Overall: 95-94 Matthysse. Exactly the same scorecard as Harold Lederman.

    Thoughts:
    1. I found this a relatively easy fight to score. It's not conceivable to have it any other way.

    2. Over 12 rounds, I see this being 115-113, well, Matthysse has the upperhand.

    3. There's no doubt that the fight with Devon and Judah has been a huge learning experience for Lucas, he can't not continue without taking away the gems of knowledge that come with his fights here. The gems he gained came into play against Peterson.

    4. Why the **** was this 10 rounds? ****ing pussies, I'll take them in 12.

    5. Mayweather would make childs play of this version of Matthysse.

    6. Stiverne-Austin clip came on, this turned me off all heavyweights for life, I'm only interested in Fury, Haye and Wilder.

I don't know about it being easy to score I thought rounds 1, 5 and 6 were rounds that could've went either way, incidentally the only rounds we differ on.

If you give these three rounds to Alexander then you have 95-94 Alexander, a fair score in my eyes.

Dunno man, my reasons are on my scorecard, if you re-watch it you may notice, I could have a re-watch and may notice something different too i.e my previous credit for Matthysse that shouldn't have been given but I seriously think my cards accurate.

I watched those three rounds again.

The first I gave to Matthysse this time round, close but Matthysse. Before I gave it to Alexander but I had noted it as an 'either way' round I think I was wrong there Matthysse done enough to edge it.

The fifth I stand by as one that could go either way this time I gave it to Alexander by a bawhair though, but there was really nothing in it at all. I'd score it a 10-10 but I don't like scoring them.

The sixth I give to Alexander now. Just but by enough that I'm confident it's his.

Good work man think you scored it better than I did first time round, closer inspection changes my card to 95-94 Matthysse. The possibile scores I could have now are 96-93 Matthysse if I gave 5 to Matthysse, 96-94 Matthysse if I scored it even and 95-94 Matthysse.

Considering both fighters strengths and weaknesses,
Alsonso Lopez-Park would've been a great technical fight.

Yes, definitely, unless Park landed something sharp early.

It could be abysmal viewing if it goes 15 as I'd expect it to though.

There's a small possibility that Park might espadas A.Lopez, yes.

    A.Lopez - ****o of Death would've been great too.

Khan vs Maidana, because someone is trolling about it in General and I don't think I had watched it all the way through in one sitting while paying close attention. (I.e, not doing something else at the same time or being distracted, etc.)

    Khan-Maidana

    1. 10-8
    2. 10-9 Total Score: 20-17
    3. 9-10 (close) Total Score: 29-27
    4. 10-9 Total Score: 39-36
    5. 10-8 (point deduction from Maidana) Total Score: 49-44
    6. 10-9 (close, could have gone either way) Total Score: 59-53
    7. 9-10 Total Score: 68-63
    8. 10-9 Total Score: 78-72
    9. 10-9 Total Score: 88-81
    10. 8-10 (Maidana almost takes Khan's head off and spends 2 minutes chasing him down and landing more shots, to me a clear 10-8 without a knockdown) Total Score: 96-91
    11. 9-10 Total Score: 105-101
    12. 9-10 Total Score: 114-111

Bottom line is that even though Maidana had some eye catching shots in early rounds, Khan controlled too much of those rounds to let me give many of them to Maidana. Similarly, Khan spent too much time running in the late rounds and being on the wrong end of short, powerful punches from Maidana for me to give Khan either of the last two because of a quick flurry or two.

The only rounds that I have that could be argued as going either way are 2 and 6, one of which I scored to Khan, one to Maidana. On my card, even if you give Maidana back the point he lost (which probably was going too far, I think a foul has to be a lot more flagrant to take a point without a warning) and slide him the other round I marked as close, the best he can do is a draw.

114-111 for Khan, although if it had been the old days and a 15 rounder, I think Maidana would have had an excellent chance to pull it out in those extra rounds.

I have to say it's interesting to see where these guys have gone since: Khan I think is backsliding in terms of technique or simply refused to learn from his mistakes, (and his Ring IQ was never better than mediocre at best, as seen from the way he never tried to attack Maidana's body again, couldn't adapt to the inside uppercuts from Maidana, and has continued to fight in ways that leave him open to big counters and making fights a lot closer than they need to be) while Maidana seems to be improving his technique and staying more consistent, while continuing to use the strong points of his roughhousing, brawling natural style.

10 9 another tremendous round! the last minute was brawls away

9 10 starts off as another ****ing brawl. if these fights were 15 rounds, they'd be universally considered among the best ever
    10 9
    10 9
    10 10 a draw round. **** it

    96 94

This fight is as good as any i've ever seen. i forgot that. round 7 is a hair away from round 9 of 1 this is brilliant, brilliant stuff. If I can do one thing for this sport i love, it's ensuring people appreciate the brilliance of these wars.

What I love is that going into the last round Ward was retired. he knew it and everyone knew it.

It was gotta make gatti's career to win this (the announcers opined that it could lead to a title shot). This was Ward's friend and he went out for the 10th trying to ****ing kill him. He gave him the respect to go for broke. Well done men. You are everything that this sport is and you are everything this sport needs.

    Kessler looks badly faded here.
