If you get a chance have a look at the Harada Rudkin fight. There's a full version with Japanese commentary, well worth a watch.

    Fight 83: Sanchez vs Gomez

    1: 10-8
    2: 9-10
    3: 9-10
    4: 10-9
    5: 10-9
    6: 10-9
    7: 9-10
    8: tko

This was a great back and forth fight. I forgot just how aggressive Gomez was in this one.

He got caught cold in the first round being reckless but after that it was a very competitive fight with Gomez on the front foot and Sanchez on the back foot.

The difference for me was that nasty swelling on Gomez, as that got worse it meant Sanchez was able to open up a bit more.

This fighting on the back foot by Sanchez is incredible he doesn't take an awful lot of shots but his counters are quite sharp throughout, the finish wasn't one punch it was a cumulative affect of the hard shots he'd landed throughout.

Gomez is often used as an example of those who can't effectively add weight, by me as well. But watch this fight and tell me Wilfredo is not a great fighter at 126

He made two failed jumps to two great fighters but this Gomez beats Nelson for my money.

There's a lot of talk about how under prepared he was, I don't buy it. He just came up against a man who was a bit better than him.

    Fight 84: Gans vs Herman

This fight is probably the best argument I've ever seen against this amazing evolution of our sport.

Gans looks just like Mayweather. Or rather Mayweather looks just like him.

I'm not incredibly researched in that era but i only rank Floyd ahead of Gans only due to Floyd doing what he did against better opposition as far as I know.

But the way Gans moves around the ring, skips back from body attacks, shoulder rolls for defence and pops up the lead right all very much tactics Floyd used.

I bet if you degrade footage of Floyd to that frame rate there'd be some who would struggle to tell which fighter is which.

I think Gans is still one of the very best lightweights ever born. I think he's durable enough to outpoint Chavez for instance.

    Looks brilliantly p4p elite here.

    Fight 85: Leonard vs Tendler

I've often heard posters on here say there isn't any good footage of Leonard about. I totally challenge that opinion as there's a readily available crisp version of this fight on YouTube.

It's hard comparing Leonard to a more modern boxer.

He had excellent footwork that always kept him out of ranhe. He demonstrated here he had a great chin as he took a full bodied power shot from Tendler that knocked two teeth out, but recovered to dominate again. He was quite an active puncher and very adept defensively. He clearly had incredible power also. Perhaps most impressive though is his willingness to face all challenges regardless of style or risk.

Are there any modern examples of a fleet footed defensive wizard who throws a lot of punches and has 1 punch ko power?

I'm beginning to wonder if I under rated Leonard. The answer is almost certainly yes.

    Fight 86: Napoles vs Cokes

    1: 10-9
    2: 10-9
    3: 10-9
    4: 10-9
    5: 10-9
    6: 10-9
    7: 10-9
    8: 10-9
    9: 10-9
    10: TKO

Napoles has to be one of the best offensive forces in boxing history. His combination punching is up there as some of the most fluid punching ever.

His footwork and head movement are good enough to keep him on position without shipping much return but it's all about those shots he throws.

So quick, accurate, well timed and slick. No wonder he had the nickname butter.

Cokes trained the hardest or his career for this fight and just looked completely hapless. After he kick-started his career he reached the pinnacle and given a shot in the rematch he obviously felt he just had no chance of ever beating Jose.

Saw a post on the general saying Floyd would shut out Napoles. Not a chance.

Napoles probably stops Floyd and I favour him over almost any WW in history.

    Fight 87: Hearns vs Duran

    1: 10-7
    2: tko

This performance is absolutely stunning. Hearns was quicker, stronger, better at range and just totally outmatched Duran.

Duran genuinely believed he couldn't be hurt after the performance against Hagler and he just didn't know what to when he had to take them flush right hands solid to the chin.

    Brutally efficient.

Fight 88 - Hagler vs Hearns

    1: 9-10
    2: 10-9
    3: TKO

This fight definitely gets over hyped as the best fight ever but it is still very good.

Hearns boxes beautifully in the first round landing hard shots from range, but he just isn't able to stop the march of Hagler and once Marvin gets up close, the chin of Hearns was never gonna hold up.

Not much else to say about this one really.

    Fight 89: Louis vs Schmelling

    1: TKO

Louis showed how intelligent he was here the way he adapted, tightened up his defence and adjusted his line of attack.

Taking the fight inside was a genius move and Max just couldn't live with his power.

    Those right hands, **** me.

I don't care who's on the receiving end, they aren't surviving them.

I watch this and think all it takes is one lazy jab or lazy clinch by Wlad and the whole size vs skill argument goes tits up.

    Fight 90: Zamora vs Pedroza

    1: 10-9
    2: TKO

Zamora was fearsome in this fight. Too much strength and infighting ability for Pedroza to keep him away.

Obviously Pedroza wasn't the finished article yet but what a performance this was by Zamora.

Bit out of place this fight being so far up my list but I had to do some rejigging of things and Donaire didn't deserve his earlier mention with hindsight.

Zamora took his spot and I added Wlad in at the bottom to finish off the 100.

I'll post my list on here when I've done watching these.
