I thought the first Olivares/Castillo bout was extremely close. I didn't actually score it, I just kept tabs on the rounds and who I thought was getting the better of the action. Not much in it either way for me. If I had to give it to either man I'd likely have scored it to Ruben by a couple of points.

    Hembrick vs Word

Hembrick started strong with fluid combinations during the entrance and showed he had an excellent training Camp in the Dance studio with his choreographers

Honestly thought Hembrick was robbed, who didnt score that entrance a 10-8 Round

Ok im watch Saad Muhamad and Qawi right know.

    Tale of the tape
    Champ:Matthew Saad Muhamad 5-11 174 1/2 75" reach
    Challenger:Dwight Braxton 5-6 1/2 174 3/4 71" reach

Round 1- Braxton looks real confident from the beginning slipping Saads jab and landing his overhand right. Nobody doing a whole lot but Qawi was more busier and landed the cleaner shots. Howard Cosell is getting it wrong he mentions how Saad keeps scoring with the Jab,but Qawi has slipped almost all of them. Braxton 10-9

Round 2- I didnt know old timer Wesley Mouzon managed Qawi:huh Qawi keeps coming but Saad just landed to good rights, Qawi comes back with a good right of his own. Saad started to open up more and hes landing, but everytime he does Qawi puts more heat on he look like he just stunned Saad wow he just snapped Saads head back. I was on my way to possibly giving the round to Saad but Braxton landed some big shots at the end. Braxton 10-9

Round 3- Saad lands a nice left, Qawi just grins:D Qawi landin some nice left jabs. Saad is relaxed only occasionly throwing left jabs. Cosell keeps saying Saad is landing:lol: but i cant see it Qawi is slipping most of them. Saad lands a solid left but Qawi fires back landing an impressive combination. Braxton 10-9

Round 4- I like Braxtons jab pretty good for a really short LH. Qawi landed a nice uppercut, wow Braxton is laying it on him heavy even with his back against the ropes. Saad lands a nice right hand but as usual Qawi comes back with more. Im impressed that Qawi can beat him up when either against the ropes or when hes coming forward. He is showing he can beat Saad any way he wants too.
    Braxton 10-9

Round 5- Saad landing his jab and lands a good right hand, first time qawi didnt make him pay dearly for it. So far Qawi not as busy as he was earlier. Oh spoke to soon Qawi lands two nice right hands. Saad lands some nice shots at he end. Close round but Saads late rally eeeks it out for him Saad 10-9

Round 6- So far this is a good fight although Qawi is doing much more damage. Qawi landing some hard shots to the body and seems more agressive than in the last round, Saad lands a good right hand but qawi comes stormin after him and makes him pay. They are fithing in the trenches with Qawi getting the better of it. Saad know gets on his toes trying to outjab him from the outside. Qawi lands a good shot drives Saad to the ropes Braxton 10-9

Round 7-:lol: Cosell says he has Qawi only slightly ahead:lol: This is pretty much one sided. Saad throwing fire but Braxton has slipped all of them. Saad bleeding from the nose. Saad is now landing the left jab and puffing up Qawis eye, but Qawi comes storming back hes against the ropes but landing uppercuts on Saad. Braxton 10-9

Round 8- Qawi coming in behind the jab,now inside and landing uppercuts snapping Saads head back. Saad is looking like he has cement in his shoes, hes looking like a beaten man, Qawi still landing uppercuts snapping Saads head back. Saad tries to do something at the end but looks like hes throwing in slow motion
    Braxton 10-9

Round 9- Saad is trying to stick and move but looks weary,Braxton taking his time until Saad goes against the ropes and Braxton opens up on him. Saad peppering him Qawi with harmless jabs from the outside. Qawi snaps Saads head back with a left jab, then drives him to the ropes and his punishing him. Its getting to the point where you have to feel sorry for Saad Braxton 10-9

Round 10- Qawi drives Saad to the ropes at the begining of the round. They are now in the center of the ring and qawi is snapping Saads head back with jabs. Like the warrior he is Saad rallys back but is hammered back and gets dropped. Qawi now looking to finish him off on the ropes. Mercante stops the fight.

Qawi Tko 10 89-82. I know Saad was slowing down at this time, but Braxton was a beast and imo would have whupped even the best version of Saad. Intresting enough though i read an interview with Braxton and he said Saad hit him harder than anybody. He didnt appear to ever be hurt in this fight though.

After the fight Qawi is praising Saads jab and says it was very hard. Michael Spinks is on the ropes screaming that he is the true champion:lol:

I love how Qawi sets him up for that overhand right all night long, in that fight.

A lot of indecisive rounds. I admittedly leaned toward Olivares in the closer rounds. Thought he was forcing the action most of the fight and busier. I just didn't think Castillo threw enough punches until late in the fight.

I was watching the Sky Sports version and they were giving rounds to Morales for coming forward when it was clearly Barrera who was initiating the majority of attacks and landing the better shots. There's so much **** commentary in boxing :fire

:good Most of the rounds were so even and uneventful they could have been given to either fighter...Morales entered that fight as underdog though, and sentimental favorite, so everyone gave the close rounds to him.

Antonio Cervantes TKO 8 Hector Thompson
Cervantes dominated a very good fighter and one of the strongest fighters I've seen around 135/140. I gave Thompson one round. Cervantes is most known for getting schooled by Locche and losing to Benitez and Pryor near the end of his career, but prime efforts of Cervantes should be seen: Locche II, Dejesus, and Thompson. Great fighter who only lost to the very best.

Jose Napoles TKO 13 Curtis Cokes
Mantequilla was mesmorizing. Just dominant, controlling the tempo throughout. Moving in and out of the pocket effortlessly. I gave Cokes two rounds. Dominant effort by Napoles.

Eddie Mustafa Muhammad KO Lotte Mwalle
Good effort by Mustafa after the loss to Spinks. Mwalle won the 3rd round but got sparked brutally in the 4th. Douchebag announcer Sal Marciano got to use his "good night sweet prince" line with Mwalle laying on the canvas with his leg twitching. Mwalle got stopped brutally by both Saad and Muhammad. Pretty good fighter otherwise.

Very difficult fight to score. Nearly every round could have gone either way depending on what you like. I'm a fan of Canizales but he disappointed me with this performance. He ate a lot of jabs and lead right hands and didn't really get into his rhythm. Vazquez boxed well on the back foot for the most part and showed a good consistent jab. He did let Canizales force the action though which cost him rounds.

On a side note, there was one dickhead in the crowd booing the whole time which was ****ing annoying

Thanks for that. You guys he got me interested in this fight. Gonna check it out soon.

    Last night watched:
Jose Quinones TKO3 Doug Dewitt - Dewitt was on his way to an expected decision win (I didn't see him doing any great damage to suggest a KO). He ran into a perfect overhand right in the 3rd, reminiscent of the one Valdez knocked down Monzon with. He got up but was on ***** street and the ref stopped it.
Bobby Czyz KO2 Willie Edwards - Brutal war. Czyz was hurt in the first and only kept up by the ropes. Edwards couldn't miss him with the right hand. Czyz just outfought him in the second and KO'd Edwards brutally.

    116-112 Watson :happy

Good fight. Eubank landing the cleaner, harder shots in the first half of the fight but Watson takes over in the 6th by sorting out his counter punching, timing Eubanks shots. He builds up a rhythm and Eubank in the end is too tired to mount a serious comeback. Eubank also got seriously hurt by a body shot around the 10th round. Really good all-round display of boxing from Watson.

I don't know what fight the judges were watching. Antuofermo worked hard but all the quality came from Hagler. He was clearly landing the cleaner shots throughout. Usually when Antuofermo landed a decent shot Hagler came back with one or two clean punches of his own. The only rounds Vito won on my card were when he basically out hustled Hagler.

On a side note, Howard Cosell is a poor commentator
