    Matthew Hilton vs Buster Drayton

ROUND 1 HILTON 10-8 DRAYTON. Hilton sends Drayton to the mat 2 minutes of the way through the round off a thunderous right hand, round up to this point had been a pretty typical feeling out round with some wild swings mixed in from both fighters. Drayton takes the count and goes on the run from an out for blood Hilton for the rest of the round and does well to weather the storm.

ROUND 2 HILTON 10-9 DRAYTON. Hilton doing a lot of good work keeping the fight in the centre of the ring and doing good body work from mid range. I think Drayton wants to make this more of a jabbing contest but thats not happening.Drayton is a good mover and his control of his back foot is pretty impressive. Hilton doing a good job of parrying Draytons attempts to set up punches.

ROUND 3 HILTON 10-9 DRAYTON. Thought Buster done a good job for the first 2 minutes of the round winding the pace back down to suit him. He fell off in the last minute and a half and Hilton began having a bit of success going to the body.

ROUND 4 HILTON 9-10 DRAYTON. Drayton having a bit more success in what was a pretty tentative round which is what Drayton wants, Hilton still throwing wild swings. Drayton done a good job controlling the ring and just cutting Hilton off with jabs to ward off having to engage in the mini exchanges that Hilton was drawing him into in the earlier rounds.

ROUND 5 HILTON 10-9 DRAYTON. Some good exchanges in this round, Hiltons wide hooks to the body are awesome in spite of the rawness of them.

ROUND 6 HILTON 9-10 DRAYTON. Could tell Hiltons tank was running low at the start of the round because of all the bouncing around he was doing,it became more obvious as the round progressed. Drayton done a good job at what hes comfortable with, just guiding Hilton around the ring and keeping him weary with the jab.

ROUND 7 HILTON 9-10 DRAYTON. More of the same. Drayton looking comfortable just responding to what Hilton does. Commentator makes an interesting note that it looks like Hilton looks intimidated by the 15 round distance which i agree with.

ROUND 8 HILTON 9-10 DRAYTON. Not much to say about this round other than Drayton is starting to hit back at Hiltons attempts at swarming and is having no problem getting into some exchanges. Hilton is starting to tire and plod along.

ROUND 9 HILTON 10-9 DRAYTON. Hilton is a machine and looks like he found a second wind in this round. What surprised me most in this round was Hilton's willingness and success he found exchanging jabs with drayton this late on in the fight. Drayton starting to breathe with his mouth open as he slows down. Commentators bring up that he IS 34 afterall, something i had forgotten and wouldnt have noticed previously as he still looks very good and athletic.

ROUND 10 HILTON 9-10 DRAYTON. Great excitement in this round as both men keep it in close quarters and exchange bombs. Drayton started the round well by walking down Hilton into a corner and letting fly and topping the combo off with a great right on Hiltons chin, that barely seems to shake him as Hilton comes right back. Drayton lands the more consistent and damaging power shots.

ROUND 11 HILTON 10-10 DRAYTON. Not much to say about this one. Both men slowing down considerably and starting to just lean on each other and throw some resting pitty pat punches on the inside. Hilton experimenting with the step back-right uppercut.

ROUND 12 HILTON 10-9 DRAYTON. Hilton explodes at the start of the round with the combo wide hooks to the body and leading in with the left uppercut.Hilton does well to utilize his strength by just backing Drayton up everytime he tries leaning on him or tries to get a good angle on him.

ROUND 13 HILTON 10-9 DRAYTON. Great exchanges in this round and both men have great resolve for being able to hold this pace because both are clearly knackered, Drayton moreso. Hilton had Drayton looking on the way out early in the round as he exploded on him but Buster does well to stay in it.

ROUND 14 HILTON 9-10 DRAYTON. Drayton won most of this round off the jab which isnt going to win him the fight, he needs the KO. Drayton catches Hilton near the end of the round and sends Hiltons legs shaking, the commentators cry low blow but i dont think so.

ROUND 15 HILTON 10-9 DRAYTON. Great show of resolve and courage from both boxers, especially Hilton as a 21 year old, he came out looking for the kill when he really didnt have to. Great end to a great fight.

    My Decision: Hilton 144-141 Drayton

Judges Decision: Matthew Hilton by UD and new IBF Jr. Middleweight Champion

An excellent bout to watch just to admire Matt Hiltons tank and drive if nothing else. Drayton just a few too many years past his best and it shows in the last rounds where Hilton is digging with everything he has and as much as Drayton would've liked to he just couldnt. Great fight.

Boxeo, I think your last score should read 144-141, but that's neither here nor there. I am enjoying reading on some of the fights you've been perusing. Especially Machen-Hunter, which I now have to see. Keep 'em coming, my man.

That's the first half watched. This is my first rewatch since the live fight. I remember how on edge I was live because every round is quite competitive and you never know how they're gonna score it. Watching it now though I still see each round being reasonably close but Canelo isn't doing a lot really. He's keeping himself out of danger with his feet but he's just being jabbed around the ring and whilst there isn't a whole lot in these rounds, they just seem to be routine for Golovkin so far.
