Rough, great breakdown on the fight. I scored it recently and here was what I wrote:

Gonzalez-Ohba. 5 point must system in effect.

    Round 1: 5-4 Ohba
    Round 2: 5-4 Ohba
    Round 3: 5-4 Gonzalez
    Round 4: 5-4 Ohba
    Round 5: 5-4 Ohba
    Round 6: 5-4 Ohba
    Round 7: 5-4 Gonzalez
    Round 8: 5-4 Gonzalez
    Round 9: 5-5 Even
    Round 10: 5-4 Ohba
    Round 11: 5-4 Gonzalez
    Round 12: 5-4 Gonzalez
    Round 13: 5-4 Ohba
    Round 14: 5-5 Even
    Round 15: 5-4 Gonzalez

    Total: 69-68 Ohba

I was so impressed with Gonzalez. So sharp and so economical with his shots. I can see why he had something like 45 KOs to his credit. He didn't really solve the height and reach issue that Ohba presented until the 7th. After that he was playing catch-up and came up just shy in the scoring. What's noticeable is the complete lack of bodywork. They were head-hunting from start to finish. A really good fight and Gonzalez looked like he could have easily done another 5 rounds while Ohba was dragging that last round.

Totally agreed. Also, I forgot about 5 point must!

What always got me about Ohba was his absolutely freakish recovery power. He'd be seriously hurt and then somehow rattle a vicious salvo on you and turn the tables, then go back to working that kamikaze jab.

And that right he took from Chionoi...

"Sugar" Ray Leonard vs Dave "Boy" Green

    Round 1: Leonard 10-9
Good showings from Ray, moving effectively and popping a steady jab. Green not in range at any point to do anything serious.

    Round 2: Leonard 10-9
Green really trying here, ah bless him. He managed to fling himself in range, only to be outmanoeuvred or stung by Leonard's combos. Leonard taking it based on his steady jab and not really taking much damage himself.

    Round 3: Leonard 10-9
Not much happening here, Leonard moving away consistently and still popping the jab.

    Round 4: Leonard KO
Brutal KO, that combo was picture perfect. Leonard started fighting on the inside this round, I doubt it's a coincidence he scored a KO like that no less than 30 seconds later

I happen to see a fight mentioned on the Oba Carr thread that is going on. It was mentioned that there was some controversy over Carr's decision over Derrell Coley. Well that's all I needed to see, so I looked up the fight on youtube. And guys, you gotta see it. What a terrific fight. Here we go.

    Round 1: 10-9 Coley
    Round 2: 10-9 Coley
    Round 3: 10-9 Carr
    Round 4: 10-10 Even
    Round 5: 10-9 Carr
    Round 6: 10-9 Coley
    Round 7: 10-10 Even
Round 8: 10-9 Coley (Coley was hurt at the end of the round but I still felt he did enough that round to take it)
    Round 9: 10-9 Carr
    Round 10: 10-9 Carr
    Round 11: 10-9 Carr
    Round 12: 10-9 Coley

    Total: 115-115 Draw

Actual scores were 116-114 Coley, 115-113 Carr and 115-114 Carr. To tell you the truth, all the scores including mine were right there. Nothing too wild or out of the question. I would call this a close decision but not a bad decision. The judges were in line. And I really enjoyed this fight which was fought at an incredible pace.

Competitive fight, especially on the actual scorecards. Kalule is definitely underrated, and a good win for Leonard.

I really enjoyed this fight, and underrated effort from a game Kalule and a technical brawl which doesn't get the sort of credit I think it should.

Leonard didn't carry himself as well at 154, he looked visibly bigger and there was a clear dip in overall speed as well as Leonard blowing hard after 6. In fact, this was one of those cases from Leonard's career where he was brought on by his skills, but bailed out by his physical superiority.

    Marvin Hagler v Roberto Duran

Here's my views and scorecard on this oft debated fight. Did Hagler win comfortably or was it in the balance going into the final round? Did Hagler get it tactically wrong or was he just in with an all-time great, a clever fighter who would give most fighters trouble when he was on his A game?

I had Hagler 9-5-1 in rounds. The first 4 rounds were very cagey and I can see people giving Duran a bigger share of the rounds than I did. Things heated up from the 5th round on and I thought Hagler had his best period of the fight in the middle rounds before things started to turn in Duran's favour from around the 10th. Going into the final two rounds I had it 7-5-1 to Hagler and in truth, he was always ahead on my card. Had Duran been able to carry the momentum that extra couple of rounds, there could have been an upset, but Hagler upped his work rate and Duran couldn't match it. A highly competitive fight but a clear (though never comfortable) win for Hagler in my opinion.

1 10-9 (very cagey opener, Hagler slightly busier)
2 9-10 (close again - Hagler starts well and seems in control before Duran starts countering him with right hands towards the end of the round and just nicks it from Marvelous)
    3 10-9 (very close)
    4 10-9 (not a lot of action)
5 9-10 (best round of the fight so far. Close but felt Duran just nicked it)
6 10-9 (good round, Hagler with the better, more sustained action)
    7 10-9
    8 10-9
9 10-9 (bit of a slower round, Hagler just busier)
10 10-10 (Marvin busier but Duran countering well. Pick 'em round)
11 9-10 (Marvin decides to bounce around on the outside and gives Duran a respite. Duran counters Hagler coming in and edges the round)
12 9-10 (good round and arguably Duran's best of the fight. Hagler switches tactics and goes straight to Duran in this round but misses a lot due to some superb head movement from Roberto who counters him with right hands. He's having fun in there and is starting to close the points gap.)
13 9-10 (close round but Duran looked in control, using the head bobs and using the jab to lead and keep Hagler at bay whilst still scoring with the counter right)
14 10-9 (Duran snarls but Hagler outworks him over the last minute to take his first round since the 9th)
15 10-9 (good final round action as Hagler takes it to Duran and again outworks him to cement his win)

    Hagler 145-141 Duran

This was one of the first fights I did a proper scorecard post for on here. I had it basically the same as you, except 1 round difference in Duran's favour (or an even, I forget). I really enjoy watching / rewatching this one despite it not being an 'action packed war'.

Here's one of those great old gilette fights, this one from Boston Gardens. Joey Giambra vs Joe DeNucci. 10 point must, which must have been unusual at the time. I know NY was still on the rounds system so plaudits to Massachusetts for being a frontrunner with this scoring system.

    Round 1: 10-9 DeNucci
    Round 2: 10-10 Even
    Round 3: 10-9 DeNucci
    Round 4: 10-9 DeNucci
    Round 5: 10-9 DeNucci
    Round 6: 10-9 DeNucci
    Round 7: 10-9 Giambra
    Round 8: 10-9 Giambra
    Round 9: 10-9 Giambra
    Round 10: 10-9 Giambra

    Total: 96-95 DeNucci

I had heard this was a controversial bout where even some Boston papers had Giambra winning. But Giambra caused his own problems by not turning it on until late. Don Dunphy even mentioned there might be a 10-8 round in there and suggested the 8th round. But, although I did not score any round other than 10-9, I did think the 10th was Giambra's biggest round. The problem here was DeNucci stayed so busy popping the jab, thumping Giambra in the clinches and generally outhustling him in the first half that Giambra just could not overcome that early lead and really needed to turn it on earlier. But hey, this was Giambra's last fight, so maybe the mind was willing but the body wasn't. A good fight regardless. Official scores were 95-94 Giambra, 95-94 DeNucci, and 97-95 for DeNucci. So a very close fight indeed.

Juan Manuel Marquez vs Juan Diaz I

    Marquez - Diaz

    R1: 9 - 10
Great opener. Diaz with more effective shots.
    R2: 9 - 10
    Great effective aggression from Diaz.
    R3: 9 - 10
Marquez adjusting, but Diaz takes it.
    R4: 10 - 9
Marquez finished analyzing, takes it now with some nice work.
    R5: 9 - 10
Close. Diaz, but he is cuffing a lot now.
    R6: 10 - 9
Marquez getting the rhythm, setting traps.
    R7: 10 - 9
Marquez landing that chopping right now.
    R8: 10 - 9
    Great round.
R9: KO - Great adjustment and uppercut. That cross counter, for the first Knock down, was awesome.

    Notes:
    • Great left hooking from Diaz - exploiting JMM's rear parry tendency (R2).
    • Marquez trying to time his right counter over Diaz's own left hook strategy. In the end, he gets it.
    • Marquez giving Jose Medel vibes here.
    • Diaz has insane stamina. I think his cut slightly changed the momentum of the fight.

Juan Manuel Marquez vs Juan Diaz II

    Marquez - Diaz

    R1: 10 - 9
Close. Diaz seems tentative, trying to get Marquez to lead.
    R2: 10 - 9
Marquez controlling the distance. Diaz not working enough.
    R3: 10 - 9
Good stuff. Diaz troubling Marquez here.
    R4: 10 - 9
    Diaz hurt.
    R5: 10 - 9
    Marquez dictating the pace.
    R6: 10 - 9
Marquez expertly countering and controlling distance.
    R7: 10 - 9
It's just going all Marquez's way. Marquez eye is hurt from thumb(?).
    R8: 10 - 9
    Marquez with brillaint set ups.
    R9: 10 - 9
    Diaz out of ideas.
    R10: 10 - 10
    Pretty close. Slower round.
    R11: 9 - 10
    Marquez coasting. First Diaz round.
    R12: 10 - 9
Marquez showing the urgency, not Diaz!

    TOTAL: 119 - 110 MARQUEZ

    Notes:
    • Extremely lopsided, and disappointing after the first. Great watch for Marquez's skill and control, though.
    • I love Marquez's little jab feints that turn into a lead hook or uppercut, or set a rear hand.

Juan Manuel Marquez vs Timothy Bradley

    Marquez - Bradley
    R1: 10 - 9
    Tense. Marquez scoring more.
    R2: 9 - 10
    Bradley scoring some solid counters.
    R3: 9 - 10
Bradley forcing Marquez to lead, scoring shots.
    R4: 9 - 10
Bradley more consistent, leading Marquez around the ring.
    R5: 9 - 10
    Bradley again corralling Marquez.
    R6: 9 - 10
Bradley showing the weaknesses in Marquez's boxing style.
    R7: 9 - 10
Marquez not efficient enough as the aggressor.
    R8: 9 - 10
Bradley picking his spots very well.
    R9: 10 - 9
    Marquez working in here
    R10: 9 - 10
Bradley again picking his spots as needed.
    R11: 9 - 10
Bradley working to the established pattern.
    R12: 9 - 10
    Good finish. Marquez rocked.

    TOTAL: 118 - 110 BRADLEY

    Notes:
    • This is one of the bouts that shows the stylistic weaknesses of Marquez. Forced to lead, corralled around the ring with movement and work-rate jabs, made him ineffective. Combined with his age and weight, and Bradley just racked up points.
    • Bradley not the best educated on his feet or punching, but he is so athletic, and is very smart at picking his spots and seeing counters - when in boxer mode.
    • Awful judging scores. Marquez winning one, really?
    • Forgettable bout, in all honesty.

Decent fight actually, both guys fought with speed and precision at a high pace, lots of intensity and ferocity. Fun to watch.

Very impressed with Pedroza's skills against what was a very difficult style for him. Also, I liked his dirty tactics...
