That reminds me, I was responsible for the @Warlando Salido dummy/sock account on here years ago...but eventually forgot my password to it (and had used an email address which I also stopped using and don't remember the pw for, to register it) :crybaby2:

I probably would've kept trolling w/ it right up until the present, otherwise. :bandit:

By all means, have at it. And wouldn't bug me too badly if you also dropped your scorecard for Siri vs. Dinamita into a bump for that one I linked above, that classic is overdue for some mass attention. ;)

I'll do a MULTI FIGHT RBR... coz that's my muh****in' style.

Is the Guerrero fight good? Both active and aggressive. A NC though?

Salido vs Lopez 2 is crazy its on my top 100 the first one is good too. Martinez 2 is a war and the Gamboa fight is a great clash of styles and from what i remember Gamboa was outclassing Salido early but Salido always the warrior kept the pressure on and by the end of the fight it was a very close fight def worth the watch.

Speaking of Terdsak and Marquez i dont know if you have seen their fight but knowing that you like fighters with good uppercuts ( Pops) Marquez puts on an uppercut clinic its beautyful stuff.

Yep, remember watching it on Showtime jumping up and down screaming. I by then already knew JMM was going to end up being great.

Salido really took him to school, impressive stuff imo. Circumstances of the NC seem a bit shady.

@Henry Hank you care to share that top 100? Sounds really interesting. Half of these are mini classics and I ain't heard of most of them. Much less watched them all.

    Dwight Braxton v James Scott

Fascinating back story to this one that I was unaware of until a couple of years ago.

Scott was highly ranked by the WBA in the late 70s on account of beating top contenders like Yaqui Lopez and Eddie Gregory/Mustafa Muhammad - fights that took place inside Rahway prison in New Jersey, where Scott was an inmate. But the WBA got cold feet about ranking an incarcerated boxer and dropped him from their rankings prompting Scott to retire. He changed his mind shortly afterwards but then lost to Jerry Martin in 1980 and was convicted in March 81 of a further crime and sentenced to life. This fight with Braxton/Qawi was only his second fight since the sentencing.

Remarkably, Braxton's alma mater was Rahway too having served time there in the 70s, only turning pro in 1978 on his release. If there was anyone who wouldn't be intimidated by these surroundings it was him. And so it proved as he started aggressively while Scott was somewhat tentative. Scott started to come into the fight from the 3rd and the middle rounds were pretty close although I gave more to Braxton.

The 9th was the standout round as both fighters traded at close range but Braxton was the busier and this was repeated in the final round to erase any doubt about the winner.

Braxton would go on to win the WBC light heavyweight title in his next fight against Matthew Saad Muhammad while Scott would never again box as a professional. He was released from prison in 2005 after serving 28 years behind bars.

    Dwight Braxton v James Scott
    1 10-9
    2 10-9
    3 9-10
    4 9-10 (close)
    5 10-9 (close)
    6 10-9 (close)
    7 9-10
    8 10-10
9 10-9 (best round of the fight)
    10 10-9
    Braxton 97-94 Scott

Braxton wins 6-3-1 in rounds on my card.

Here's an article on the fight that delves more into the background including the personal animosity between Braxton and Scott based on their shared history inside Rahway: https://ringsidereport.com/?p=55061

    Orlando Salido v Juan Manuel Lopez 1 & 2

A couple of banging fights that were Salido's coming out party as a top fighter and no longer a perennial contender.

The first fight was more competitive and harder to score, the second had the cleaner action and the two best rounds of the series (8 and 9). They were similar in that the guy leading the fight suffered the knockdown.

The first stoppage was horribly timed by the ref, the second stoppage was entirely justifiable. Naturally, Lopez wasn't happy with either.

It's hard to think what JuanMa could have done differently. He was reduced to slugging in the second fight as he was being beaten to the punch consistently by Salido. For his part, Orlando was more measured in his attacks than in the first fight where he was prone to more bull-like rushes. Maybe it was the difference in confidence. With a title and a win over Lopez under his belt, he could afford to pick his shots better and bide his time.

    Salido-Lopez 1
    1 9-10
    2 10-9
    3 9-10
    4 9-10 (scrappy)
    5 10-8
    6 10-9
    7 9-10
    (66-66)
8 Salido TKO Lopez (poorly timed intervention from ref)

    Salido-Lopez 2
    1 10-9 (close)
    2 10-9
    3 10-9
    4 10-9
    5 8-10
    6 10-9
    7 10-9
8 9-10 (best round of the fight so far)
9 9-10 (no, that was! Close but gave it to Lopez)
    (86-84)
    10 Salido TKO Lopez
