Pat, checked this out for the first time since '91. I believe back then I too had it a draw, but here we go.

    Round 1: 10-10 Even
    Round 2: 10-9 Toney
    Round 3: 10-9 McCallum
    Round 4: 10-10 Even
    Round 5: 10-9 McCallum
    Round 6: 10-9 Toney
    Round 7: 10-9 McCallum
    Round 8: 10-9 Toney
    Round 9: 10-9 McCallum
    Round 10: 10-9 Toney
    Round 11: 10-9 Toney
    Round 12: 10-9 Toney

Total: 116-114 Toney (actual scores: 116-112 Toney, 115-113 McCallum and 114-114 Even for a draw)

Good fight where McCallum kept the jab steadily moving and pot-shotting when he could against Toney's bombs and sporadic jabbing. Good close fight and a draw is a good decision.

I came across James Scott-Richie Kates the other night and was so excited — I don’t remember ever seeing it before, it’s early in Scott’s memorable prison run, next after Eddie Mustafa Muhammad (still at that time IIRC Eddie Gregory) and a really interesting matchup.

Alas, CBS cut away after two rounds and came back to show the later rounds so I didn’t score it. But a really good scrap and a great glimpse into “Super” Scott’s development. I’d still suggest it to anyone.

And I see that the Scott-Bunny Johnson fight is on YouTube now, which I don’t remember being able to find it a while back when I looked (I think that was a couple years ago).

This one is already on my light-heavyweights of the 70s/80s watchlist. Got about 9 fights on there left to watch including Scott v Kates (although I keep adding ones as I go so may not get through them that quickly!).
    The others are:
    -Galindez v Gregory/Mustafa Muhammad
    -Galindez v Rossman 2
    -Scott v Gregory/Mustafa Muhammad
    -Gregory/Mustafa Muhammad v Johnson
    -Spinks v Mustafa Muhammad
-Saad v Conteh 1 (missed a couple of rounds last time so want to rescore)
    -Saad v Qawi 1 and 2

Hey, @salsanchezfan, I'd love to score Patterson vs Benavides, but I can't find a vid. Could you link me the one you used? Cheers.

Hmmm. I can't find it either. To be honest, the last time I saw it was probably 1995 off my own VHS tape. Guess I just assumed it would be there......sorry man.....

The rare outdoor prison fight! Bunny was a very credible choice to bring over to test Scott, and he passed with flying colors. Not necessarily a top light heavyweight contender but he’d been around and shown well, many of his losses (and at least a couple of decent wins) had come at heavyweight, where he’d fight in the 180s or so.

Baer despite being the crude brawler controlled Schmeling throughout most of the available rounds, he appeared to tire in the 7th & 8th rounds allowing Euro Max to climb back into the contest. Then Made in USA Max went off and pulverized Schmeling in the 9th and 10 rounds to earn the ref stoppage. Baer would go on to clobber the OG Mountain Carnera dropping him 10 times in 11 rounds before getting the merciful stoppage to claim the Heavyweight Championship of the World in his next fight,

Fun action packed fight, for the most part Corbett III beat Jackie Boy to the punch throughout the evening despite Fields being the aggressor.

Victor Galindez v Mike Rossman 2

A strange and bad tempered fight. Rossman apparently injured his right hand which is what led to him retiring on his stool.

There seemed a lot of ill will between the fighters and their camps. A brawl broke out briefly at the end of the 4th and Galindez taunted Rossman and his corner after the fight was over. Much of it may have stemmed from their aborted rematch a couple of months before when Galindez refused to fight (with Rossman waiting in the ring for him) due to a dispute over the appointment of the judges by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

    1 10-10
    2 10-9
    3 9-10
4 10-9 (things just heated up! Excellent barrage from Galindez at the end of the round - cue mass brawl just about evaded)
    5 10-9
    6 10-9
    7 10-9
8 10-9 (a bit better from Rossman but still a Galindez round)
    9 10-9
    (99-92)
