And my Johnson-Collins card, which I had a bit wider for Johnson. Tough fight.

    Round 1: 10-9 Johnson
    Round 2: 10-9 Collins
    Round 3: 10-9 Collins
    Round 4: 10-9 Johnson
Round 5: 9-8 Johnson (Johnson wins the round but both fighters deducted 1 point for low-blows)
    Round 6: 10-9 Collins
    Round 7: 10-9 Johnson
    Round 8: 10-9 Johnson
    Round 9: 10-9 Johnson
    Round 10: 10-9 Johnson
    Round 11: 10-9 Collins
    Round 12: 10-9 Johnson

Total: 115-111 Johnson (actual scores: 115-114 and 115-113 both for Johnson and a score of 114-114 Even for a MD win for Johnson)

I had it a bit wider than the judges but I was more impressed with Johnson's accuracy and how he wasted very little. Collins was dogged right to the end and the judges clearly saw this. Not great, but a good fight. A number of low blows, elbows and heads clunking but they both hung tough.

    Frank Fletcher vs Juan Roldan

Not seen this one yet, figured it'd be a good fight. Gonna catch some more Fletcher fights tonight.

    Fletcher-Roldan
    8 : 10
    9 : 10*
    10 : 9
    9 : 10
    9 : 10 (45/49)
    Roldan KO6

Wow, what a great fight! Figured it had to be, but was overwhelmed. The Animal was relentless, and Roldan didn't seem to give a **** tbh. He just let his hands go, forced him back and started exchanging. Merciless from Roldan about the time of the stoppage as well.

Very entertaining. Little to talk about skillwise.

    Frank Fletcher vs John Mugabi

Just getting the other loss out of the way....

    Fletcher-Mugabi
    9 : 10
    9 : 10
    9 : 10
    Mugabi TKO4

Solid performance from Mugabi, but nothing crazy. He was very easy to hit, but clearly had Fletcher worried about the power, and out-muscled him easily. Mugabi set up his overhand right well, and knew exactly how to put Frank on the ropes. Fletcher for his credit toughed it out and didn't stop trying to land his left hook.

    Frank Fletcher vs Caveman Lee

I seem to remember this being an excellent performance and a short exciting brawl. Hope I'm not disappointed. I was very drunk last time I saw this.

    Fletcher-Lee
    10 : 9
    10 : 9
    10 : 9
    Fletcher TKO4

Not much you can really say about these kinda fights. Just that it was a great physical showing, Fletcher would not be deterred. He bulled Lee around, took his best punch and forced him onto the ropes.

There was a few Hagler-isms in there though. It was cool watching him step off into orthodox, then leap back into southpaw with a pseudo-cross/jab. Don't know if Frank himself knew how he did it, but it was cool to watch. Lee definitely didn't like it though.

In Chul Baek v Ronnie Essett

Not to harp on about this, but these two should have been very grateful for the creation of this sanctioning fee title. In any other previous era they would be 10 round fighters and nothing more. However, that being said, at least they entertained the audience here, which is what a clubfighter should be doing. Here we go.

    Round 1: 10-9 Baek
    Round 2: 10-9 Baek
    Round 3: 10-9 Baek
    Round 4: 10-10 Even
    Round 5: 10-9 Essett
    Round 6: 10-9 Baek
    Round 7: 10-9 Baek
    Round 8: 10-9 Essett
    Round 9: 10-9 Baek
    Round 10: 10-9 Baek
    Round 11: Baek stops Essett

Total through 10 rounds: 98-93 Baek (actual scores: 96-94, 96-95 both for Baek and an unusual 96-95 for Essett)

Clearly I was not as gracious to Essett as the judges. Baek was what he was, pretty much a tear-away. But if you're going to stand in front of him, well, that's very accommodating to him. Essett was a real disappointment for me. I remember him when he started out his career. Man, he had a speed jab and movement that made me think he was going to the top. Well, I didn't see hardly any of that jab until the 5th round. Baek was so tired by the 7th you could see he couldn't even hold his hands up. Yet, Essett still couldn't pull the trigger. Again, at least it was a decent fight.

    Frank Fletcher vs Curtis Ramsey

Last Fletcher fight on YouTube that I haven't seen in full. Don't know what to expect.

    Fletcher-Ramsey
    10 : 9
    10 : 9
    10 : 9
    10 : 9
    10 : 9
    10 : 9
    10 : 9 (70/63)
    Fletcher TKO8

Definitely the best fight I've seen from him tonight. The Roldan fight was good, but this one was a different level. Ramsey started off electing to trade but quickly decided that wasn't smart. He ran like a thief when there weren't any exchanges, but he did decide to fight his way out when forced back to the ropes. The fifth round was absolutely brilliant.

Brutal body punching performance from Fletcher. He burrowed into the ribs and made a home there. Ramsey must've been pissing blood for days. I also really liked Fletcher's left uppercut tooz reminds me of Pops' without the power.

Was always hoping to see Fletcher v Parker - although it would have been a shopworn Fletcher by that time. I just don't recall it ever televised, so that one may be lost to us.

Damn, reading old posts is like reading the mind of another person. Anyway...

Jung Koo Chang vs Muangchai Kittikasem

    Chang : Kit

    1: 9 - 10
    2: 9 - 10
    3: 10 - 10
    4: 9 - 10
    5: 10 - 7 (KD, KD)
    6: 10 - 9 [57 - 56]
    7: 10 - 9
    8: 9 - 10
    9: 9 - 10
    10: 9 - 10
    11: 10 - 8 (KD)
    12: TKO for Kittikasem!

    TOTAL: 104 - 103 CHANG

    Notes:

Nasty fight with some great exchanges, and a tragic career end for Chang. A minute into the 1st and you can tell Chang is a shot fighter - sloppy lunging from way out, lesser judgement of distance and a lack of probing feints which characterised his style. Kit takes control with sharp straight punching, but by the 5th Chang pulls it back, with a shocking double knockdown count, after landing on Kit's mandible with a left hook to start it off. From there on the fight is tightly contested. Kit is a solid skilled and strong fighter, but he is lucky he is in with a shot older Chang. Chang seems to slip for a few rounds to Kit's ring generalship, before landing another sudden knockdown in the 11th. Well on his way to a possible stoppage in the 12th, Chang exchanges with Kit, and seems to have the better of it, before a shocking left hand dazes him, where he is then KO'd with a crushing right hand. His senses displaced, Chang's career is over. A closet classic, but not exactly a showcase for either man, except in the heart category.

I'm so proud of you for the colours! But I think you added up your card wrong, mate. If it's 11 rounds, it'd be in the 100s, not 90s.
