Watched two fights earlier with my cat, and I think I'll rate Page - Tillis a solid 8, and Hunter - Thomas an ok 5. Tillis looked pretty damn hungry against Page and was coming on a lot harder and more aggressive than he usually did, he landed a couple good combinations in the early to middle rounds, before starting to tire out around 6. "Super" Greg moved quite well and kept his left hand in James' face for the entirety of the match, even splitting his lip somewhere around round 2 or 3 (I don't remember which), and also was able to slither his way in and win out during some exchanges with The Fighting Cowboy. As Tillis started to tire in the 7th, Page started to lay it on him, with James still fighting back and refusing to go down before the end of the round, but as the 8th started up, Greg wobbled him before sending the exhausted James down with a great right, and as Tillis layed there on the canvas, Dundee came in the ring to help up his fighter, who he knew was done- And by then, the fight was waved. Highlight of the Fight: Tillis knocking the iron chinned Page down in the second round off of a good combination and a thunderous cross right on the button. Greg Page vs James Tillis (youtube.com) Hunter - Thomas is a much less interesting fight to watch, as though Mike was in very good form and was popping off entertaining sequences the entire night, Pinklon was looking nothing like himself, let alone a boxer at all. Hunter danced around the ring and went in for brief combinations here and there as Thomas simply stood there and would only throw but a couple punches around- I barely remember him sending out his once ATG jab to the face of Mike, which he would've had a lot of success with if he did. It seems that although Pinklon had stated that he was clean again after another recent relapse on cocaine, that he was either still experiencing the negative effects of it, or wasn't sober at all. The judges were speaking about staying in the same hotel as him, and Thomas barely getting any rest before the fight, just constantly pacing up and down the halls and shadowboxing instead of getting in some energy for the fight, so it seems as if that played a part to. I think that this was the last fight we needed to see to be able to know that Pinklon was just about done, and the two back to back losses to Morrison after this confirm it. Highlight of the Fight: Hunter's explosive rush on Thomas in the first, coming out quick and ready to kill. This content is protected
Vivian Harris v Stevie Johnston Round 1: 10-7 Harris (scores 2 knockdowns) Round 2: 10-9 Harris Round 3: 10-9 Harris Round 4: 10-8 Harris (scores a knockdown) Round 5: 10-9 Johnston Round 6: 10-9 Johnston Round 7: Harris drops and stops Johnston Total through 6 completed rounds: 58-53 Harris (actual scores not known) I checked this out specifically because I always liked Johnson. A fighter that could engage you right in the pocket, make you miss and make you pay. But that was a few years earlier. Against Harris, the tread was gone on the tires, but Stevie still made a fight of it. However, that Harris right was finding Stevie with some regularity and finally came home to roost in the 7th. Always a shame to see a favorite of yours hanging on for that one fight too many. And this was that fight for Stevie.
This content is protected Just an exhibition fight, but exhibitions could tell us what would have happened in a real fight. Toney could have beaten Ruddock in a real fight. But then again, Razor could have just been holding back here. But Toney has an iron chin...
This content is protected I just read Prince George loves boxing! I wonder if the little one has seen this fight yet, he'd be pleased for sure, I know I was!
I forgot to ask which fight your cat liked best. And how he/she scored them. I have a male cat named Canelo — he’s a feisty, 22-pound ginger. Not really fat though. Has paws the size of small frying pans and loves to play rough. Sadly, I had to put my Miss Rotten to sleep earlier this year.
This content is protected The broadcast team here included kids and a barking dog,...lol! I hope you dont mind, They all, including the dog, did their best to communicate what was taking place in that ring. I havent seen enough of Inoue, but he reminds me a little of Salvador Sanchez. Tough test here, though...
We’ve got cats and dogs existing together on the same page of this thread. Someone needs to work in a pet lizard or hamster.
Pierre, my very macho tuxedo cat (He has a face carved by the gods and a physique to match it) enjoyed the Page - Tillis fight most, and oddly enough, he scored both fights 9-9 draws all the way through. I'm sorry to hear that. R.I.P.
Going on a bit of a Myung Woo Yuh kick here starting with... Myung Woo Yuh v Hisashi Tokushima (Jr. Flyweight title) Round 1: 10-10 Even Round 2: 10-9 Yuh Round 3: 10-9 Yuh Round 4: 10-8 Yuh (scores a knockdown) Round 5: 10-7 Yuh (scores 2 knockdowns) Round 6: 10-8 Yuh (scores a knockdown) Round 7: Referee stops the contest in Yuh's favor Total through 6 completed rounds: 60-51 Yuh (actual scores: 60-51, 60-52 and 59-50 all with Yuh leading) I was actually hoping to see a bit of a battle as Tokushima had that wiry frame and sharp punch that may have produced a bit of a scrap, but he was simply outgunned by the very patient Yuh, who knew what he was up against. He simply took his time and worked body and head that paid dividends. I will say this for the Japanese kid, man, what heart! He'd get up each time and be ready to go on the attack again. If only you could bottle that. Although not really competitive, it's a pleasure watching Yuh in action.
LOL That dog was better than Sean O' Grady lol Ok Ok I enjoyed O Grady. Better than Max Kellerman with his teenage girl-like swooning over Pernell Whitaker lol
