Johnny Famechon VS Fighting Harada I(WBC Featherweight Title Fight)
    Round 1: draw 10-10
    Round 2: Harada 20-18
    Round 3: draw 30-28
    Round 4: Harada 40-37
    Round 5: Fammo 48-47
    Round 6: draw 58-57
    Round 7: Fammo 67-67
    Round 8: Fammo 75-77
    Round 9: draw 85-87
    Round 10: Harada 95-95
    Round 11: Harada 105-103
    Round 12: draw 115-113
    Round 13: Fammo 123-123
    Round 14: Harada 133-132
    Round 15: Harada 143-141
Overall review of the fight: it's not really a hard, blatant robbery, infact I kind of gave away Harada round 12 for free (although just like round 13 of Harada vs Jofre II it's close enough to be a draw), it's the last hurrah for Harada who already seems to decline with how he got noticably slower there, Pep should've kept it better as a draw tho, changing it because of the raging Fammo fans is just crazy.

FT, its been awhile since I scored this and I notice some dissimilarities in our 13th and 14th rounds. You seem to have given Fammo a 2 point round in 13, whereas I gave Harada a 2 pointer in round 14 for a knockdown. It's fresher in your mind, so what happened? Here is my score on this very enjoyable fight:

Johnny Famechon v Fighting Harada I (5 point must)

    Round 1: 5-5 Even
    Round 2: 5-3 Harada (scores a knockdown)
    Round 3: 5-4 Harada
    Round 4: 5-4 Harada
    Round 5: 5-3 Fammo (scores a knockdown)
    Round 6: 5-4 Fammo
    Round 7: 5-5 Even
    Round 8: 5-4 Fammo
    Round 9: 5-4 Harada
    Round 10: 5-4 Harada
    Round 11: 5-3 Harada (scores a knockdown)
    Round 12: 5-4 Fammo
    Round 13: 5-4 Fammo
    Round 14: 5-3 Harada (scores a knockdown)
    Round 15: 5-4 Harada

Total: 69-64 Harada (actual score: after originally calling it a draw, officials gathered to check Willie Pep's math and decided his score was actually 70-69 for Famechon)

To begin, despite my score, I thought Famechon fought a brilliant fight. He uses every single inch of that ring in moving in and out with a strong stabbing jab. But it seemed like every time he solved Harada, the Japanese would come roaring back. I just felt my score reflected more emphasis on Harada's harder punching than Fammo's jab. But again, I will say Fammo boxed brilliantly, but felt the whirlwind of Harada deserved this verdict.

My score for the fight is from the total punch, aggression, defense and clean/effective punches,I tried the traditional way and imo, Fammo got it.

Some edit(I meant Fammo got the better punches at times, but Harada just edged it more with the downs)

OK, I know we all see things/score things different. I guess my question is did you not agree with the 14th round knockdown and what happened in the 13th that had you giving Fammo a 2-pointer? And if I haven't mentioned, welcome aboard.

It's probably kidn of a miscalculation for me in round 13,although in round 14 I thought the knockdown really just wins Harada over Fammo there, it's a draw round otherwise.

Scar, reading your post I decided to score this one myself. I was surprised at just how close this bout was on a round by round basis (as evidenced by my three even rounds). Lots of parried jabs and deflected shots from both men. Without the point deductions, Vasquez would've earned himself a draw in my book. The official scorecards were totally ridiculous!

Julio Cesar Vasquez v Pernell Whitaker

    PW : JCV

    1: 10 - 10
    2: 10 - 9 (very close imo)
    3: 10 - 9
    4: 8 - 10
    5: 10 - 10
    6: 10 - 9

    58 - 57

    7: 9 - 10
    8: 10 - 9
    9: 9 - 9 (-1)
    10: 10 - 10
    11: 10 - 8 (-1)
    12: 9 - 10

    57 - 56

    TOTAL: 115 - 113 WHITAKER

Catching up on some bouts I've missed:

    Kenshiro Teraji vs Carlos Canizales

    KT : CC

    1: 9 - 10
    2: 10 - 8 (KD)
    3: 8 - 10 (KD)
    4: 10 - 10 (great round!)
    5: 9 - 10
    6: 10 - 9

    56 - 57

    7: 9 - 10 (very close, great round)
    8: 10 - 9
    9: 9 - 10 (another great round)
    10: 9 - 10
    11: 10 - 9
    12: 10 - 9

    57 - 57

    TOTAL: 113 - 114 CANIZALES

    Notes:
    • Great back and forth war!
    • Not sure why Kenshiro was boxing like this. When he's not using his in and out style his defence is awful. I thought I was generous towards him scoring wise tbh.
    • I love the way Kenshiro threads his jab through the guard.
    • Canizales was a very strong ring general - it just seemed as if he was punching through Kenshiro.

Pernell Whitaker vs Wilfredo Rivera 1

    1 Whitaker
    2 Whitaker
    3 Whitaker
    4 Rivera
    5 Whitaker
    6 Rivera
    7 Rivera
    8 Rivera
    9 Whitaker
    10 Rivera
    11 Rivera
    12 Rivera

    115-113 Rivera

@scartissue I caught up on this fight again and here's my scorecard.

I thought Whitaker did well in the early going landing the more accurate shots as Rivera was too passive and didn't land much of note. But then when Rivera got cut by an accidental headbutt in 3rd round and then he started to switch to Southpaw, Which i'm not sure if switching to Southpaw was to protect the cut or just by design in regards to tactics. But the Southpaw stance seemed to throw Whitaker off, and i thought Rivera clearly controlled the fight in the 2nd half of the fight almost pulling out a shut out my card in the last 6 rounds.

Rivera was able to land good body shots confuse Whitaker by switching back and forth to Southpaw and in general Whitaker just didn't look sharp in the 2nd half of the fight. I'm not sure if there was some lack of training from Whitaker leading up to this fight as he looked poor to me down the stretch which is not like him.

But whatever the reason Rivera for me deserved the nod in this fight.

D, this is what I wrote when I scored it. There's always a bit of differences on ones card, but it feels like we're in synch on this for the most part.

Pernell Whitaker v Wilfredo Rivera I

Always heard about the controversial decision in this fight and thought I would check it out, although I probably saw it live but just not recalling.

    Round 1: 10-9 Whitaker
    Round 2: 10-9 Whitaker
    Round 3: 10-10 Even
    Round 4: 10-9 Rivera
    Round 5: 10-9 Whitaker
    Round 6: 10-9 Rivera
    Round 7: 10-10 Even
    Round 8: 10-9 Whitaker
    Round 9: 10-9 Rivera
    Round 10: 10-9 Rivera
    Round 11: 10-9 Rivera
    Round 12: 10-9 Rivera

Total: 116-114 Rivera (actual scores: 116-113 Rivera and two scores of 115-113 and 117-112 both for Whitaker for a split win)

Harold Lederman's score of this fight was 115-113 for Rivera, but we had about 3 rounds differing. Still, Rivera should feel bruised and it wasn't from Whitaker's punches. He won that fight. Two other of our posters scored this fight. Sweet Scientist had it a draw and McGrain also scored it for Rivera. So there is a definite controversy there if anyone wants to check it out.

José Legrà vs Èder Jofre(WBC Featherweight Title Match)
    Round 1: Legrà 10-9
    Round 2: draw 20-19
    Round 3: Legrà 30-27
    Round 4: Jofre 39-37
    Round 5: Legrà 49-46
    Round 6: draw 59-56
    Round 7: Jofre 68-66
    Round 8: Jofre 77-76
    Round 9: Jofre 86-86
    Round 10: Jofre 95-96
    Round 11: Jofre 103-105
    Round 12: Jofre 112-115
    Round 13: Jofre 121-125
    Round 14: draw 131-135
    Round 15: Jofre 140-145

My review: dang electrifying fight! instantly became one of my favorites of all time,I thought Jofre edged it out more by the later rounds and he outpunched Legrà with head and body shots in the final round,I get it why people scream it's a robbery, the rounds are close enough although at times Legrà looked like he didn't even try to punch,he just stalled while throwing steamless punches.

Jung Koo Chang v German Torres III (jr. flyweight title)

This is the 3rd installment of the Chang-Torres series and for me anyway, about the most bizarre. And by that I mean, Torres had a lot more to his arsenal than infighting with Chang. I kept waiting assuming his corner was going to change tactics sometime during the bout, but it never happened. I don't get why he simply fought Chang's fight, in Korea no less. What were they thinking? Did they think they were winning? IMO, every round Torres was coming out on the short end of the stick. Chang had one kind of a fight and Torres certainly accommodated him. I only gave Torres the 12th round and a share of the 7th for a 118-110 score for Chang (actual scores: 118-110, 117-112 and 118-113 all for Chang). Very strange indeed, especially after their second fight where I actually thought Torres won, by utilizing stylish combos.
