    Ricardo Lopez v Alex Sanchez

Nominally a unification fight between Lopez, the WBC strawweight champ, and Sanchez, the division’s WBO titlist, this was an emphatic punctuation mark made by the real champ, Lopez, who showed the gulf in class between himself and his fellow titlist.

Sanchez was clearly outgunned and outclassed from the start, with Lopez dropping Sanchez in the second and again, unofficially in the 4th, before the referee rightly waved it off in the next round.

    1 10-9
    2 10-8 (KD)
    3 10-9
4 10-8 (point deduction for Sanchez, no official knockdown called by the ref but should have been as Sanchez dropped to his knees immediately after being bundled over following a flurry which hurt him)
    (40-34)
    5 Lopez TKO Sanchez

Evander Holyfield v Michael Moorer II (heavyweight title)

    Round 1: 10-10 Even
    Round 2: 10-9 Moorer
    Round 3: 10-9 EH
    Round 4: 10-9 EH
    Round 5: 10-8 EH (scores a knockdown)
    Round 6: 10-9 EH
    Round 7: 10-7 EH (scores 2 knockdowns)
    Round 8: 10-7 EH (scores 2 knockdowns)
Moorer is retired in his corner

Total through 8 completed rounds: 79-69 Holyfield (actual scores: 78-69. 78-69 and 78-70 all for Holyfield)

This was the Vander that we all knew. I give Moorer his props though. He fought well and he exhibited toughness but this was Vander sans the heart issue and he was in deadly form. Good while it lasted

I was in a swimming pool that day and I remember looking at the skies, as my grandma's pool was right under the path for the airplanes landing at Sky Harbor International and every 5 minutes or so, Boeing 737 all the way to 747, and MD-11 and L-1011 and all flew by.

The point is, as I looked up, I started thinking "this is what its gonna look like for Alex Sanchez tonight when he looks up at Ricardo Lopez" lol..I was hoping to be wrong but knew I was not going to be.

The only thing Sanchez showed that night was an extraordinary courage. But he was outgunned.

It was still a good fight and a great win for FInito.

Yuri Arbachakov vs Chatchai Sasakul I(WBC Flyweight title fight)
    Round 1: Yuri 10-9
    Round 2: Sasakul 19-19
    Round 3: Sasakul 28-29
    Round 4: Yuri 38-38
    Round 5: Sasakul 47-48
    Round 6: draw 57-58
    Round 7: Sasakul 66-68
    Round 8: draw 76-78
    Round 9: Yuri 86-87
    Round 10: Yuri 96-96
    Round 11: Yuri 106-105
    Round 12: Yuri 107-104
Honest reviews:I actually thought there's a round missing in this fight and that makes the fight hard to score, but even so,this fight is truly a hard one to score on Yuri(for me atleast),but it's a good fight still, Yuri delivers great final win via infighting in the later rounds,I recommend y'all to watch and score this fight? Since it's really a close decision a bit similar to Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol.

FT, loved this fight and I agree, very tight in scoring. This is how I saw it:

Yuri Arbachakov v Chatchai Sasakul I (flyweight title)

I have to preface this fight by saying that I always felt some of the most highly skilled fights I have seen were Leonard-Benitez, Cervantes-Benitez and Napoles-Lewis I. And this bout joins them. Every round was so tightly-contested with nary a hair between them. I felt like applauding several times during the contest.

    Round 1: 10-10 Even
    Round 2: 10-9 Sasakul
    Round 3: 10-9 Yuri
    Round 4: 10-10 Even
    Round 5: 10-9 Sasakul
    Round 6: 10-9 Sasakul
    Round 7: 10-9 Yuri
    Round 8: 10-10 Even
    Round 9: 10-9 Sasakul
    Round 10: 10-9 Sasakul
    Round 11: 10-9 Yuri
    Round 12: 10-9 Yuri

Total: 116-115 Sasakul (actual scores: 116-114, 116-112 and 117-113 all for Yuri)

I can't gripe about the scores because it's like I said, a hair between them each round. Yuri the harder puncher and Sasakul the more skilled. One has to stay riveted to see the slightest nuance between these two. This was as good a draw as one could see, but it is what it is with the scores. I will also say each round was over before I knew it, which was how entranced I was. I always said the best pure boxers I've ever seen were Willie Pep, Lionel Rose and Albert Davila. But Sasakul joins them. He was also an amazing counter-puncher. Clearly I'm very impressed with what I've seen.

Same,I would not complain if you score it for Sasakul imo,he was just as competitive,he knew how to abuse Yuri's gun shyness.

Veeraphol Sahaprom vs Daorung Chuwatana(WBC Super Flyweight title fight)
    Round 1: Veeraphol 10-9
    Round 2: Daorung 19-19
    Round 3: Daorung 28-29
    Round 4: Daorung 37-39
    Round 5: Veeraphol 47-48
    Round 6: Veeraphol 57-57
    Round 7: Veeraphol 67-66
    Round 8: Daorung 76-76
    Round 9: Veeraphol 86-85
    Round 10: Veeraphol 96-94
    Round 11: Veeraphol 106-103
    Round 12: draw 116-113
Overall review:good, good fight! These two guys really break the "Thai brawler" stereotype,at one point when Veeraphol was still in Muay Thai one commentator says he's the cream crop on top in techniques, he's not lying,I also think Veeraphol was the most well rounded Thai champ ever.

Hilario Zapata v German Torres (lt. flyweight title)

Y'know, I would love to ask the Torres camp, in the weeks leading up to this fight, what exactly were you instructing your charge to do in this fight? Was it to put no pressure on the champ and just traipse after him round after round, throwing a wild swing now and then in the hopes of catching him? If that's the case, he perfected it. Meanwhile, Zapata, a master of space, kept his opponent just outside the range while he, with his long arms, just pop-pop-popped him all night from the outside. I scored the fight 148-139 (actual scores: 148-137, 148-137 and 146-137) giving Torres rounds 11 and 15 with a very generous share of rounds 1 and 12. Solid win for Zapata over a good opponent who had a very poor battle plan.

Juan Manuel Marquez vs Chris John(WBA Featherweight Title Match)
    Round 1: John 10-9
    Round 2: Marquez 19-19
    Round 3: John 29-28
    Round 4: John 39-37
    Round 5: draw 49-47
    Round 6: John 59-56
    Round 7: John 69-65
    Round 8: Marquez 78-75
    Round 9: Marquez 87-85
    Round 10: Marquez 96-95
    Round 11: John 106-104
    Round 12: John 116-113
Review:I don't really see a robbery here, just like Duràn vs Sims, this fight is very close, but from my perspective Marquez really loses from how inactive he was early on, it's either that fact which makes him lose the fight or with how John fought smart early, not letting Marquez get his preferred range, either way it's a very good, quality win for John, with Derrick Gainer and Rocky Juarez in his record he'll probably in the IBHOF by now,if this was no controversial win, secondly with how John already offered Marquez a rematch and he refused makes it way more unfair to John that tried to prove he's really the better fighter only to be declined.

Not a great fight by any means but an interesting one. Pastrano dominated from the outside and Johnson on the inside.

I had it 144-141 for Pastrano..the judges had it 69-68 twice, divided, and a 69-67 for Pastrano. The scoring was on the 5 points must system. That would be 7-6-2 divided and 8-6-1 for Willie. Very close.

Interesting to see also a young Chuck Hall. I almost didnt recognize him until I heard his voice!

Willie was a joy to watch and this is a fantastic win.

I’ve seen it before but didn’t catch Chuck Hall. That’s awesome.

Willie was Macho Camacho and Muhammad Ali before they came to the scene lol...Ali said he copied some of his style from Willie.

I was surprised recently that Chuck Hull had no Wikipedia article so I fixed that. Then, someone put a tag saying that he may not be notable enough for Wikipedia but I that got fixed too when he was voted t the IBHOF. LOL

Thank you for fighting the good fight, so to speak, to get a staple of many of our boxing upbringings get proper recognition for posterity.

I looked it up, of course. Good job.
