Juan Diaz v Lakva Sim (lightweight title)

    Round 1: 10-9 Diaz
    Round 2: 10-10 Even
    Round 3: 10-9 Diaz
    Round 4: 10-9 Sim
    Round 5: 10-9 Diaz
    Round 6: 10-9 Diaz
    Round 7: 10-10 Even
    Round 8: 10-9 Sim
    Round 9: 10-9 Diaz
    Round 10: 10-9 Diaz
    Round 11: 10-9 Diaz
    Round 12: 10-9 Diaz

Total: 118-112 Diaz (actual scores: 118-110, 118-111 and 116-112 all for Diaz)

Man, what can one say about this fight other than it could have been fought in a phone-booth. They just met at ring center and began throwing. I'll bet Diaz' hands were sore after this fight. I tell you, what was Sim made of? I'm sure I don't know, but it should be bottled for all fighters. Diaz, however, just gave it everything in the tank and deserved the win.

One of the most slept on fights of the 2010's, I had it 114-111 with both having 6 rounds a piece but Adamek got three knockdowns to solidify the victory. I thought Cunningham came back to win the last three rounds but it just wasn't enough, I thought the commentators were quite biased for Cunningham at times and the judge that had it 114-111 Cunningham is ridiculous.

It's funny too looking at their body types, Cunningham had a fantastic athletic/aesthetic physique and the way he's built would make most people think he's bigger and stronger than Adamek but he's actually not.

Tyson Fury vs John McDermott 1

    1 McDermott
    2 McDermott
    3 Fury
    4 McDermott
    5 McDermott
    6 Fury
    7 McDermott
    8 McDermott
    9 Fury
    10 Fury

    96-94 McDermott

I decided to watch this fight again as i haven't seen it in years and i still think it's a very bad decision, McDermott walked down Fury all night landed the harder more effective punches and even out jabbed the bigger man in numerous rounds. Alot of Fury's punches were arm punches and whilst i do think he put in a good shift in the last 2 rounds i still don't think that was enough to earn him the decision.

Terry O'Connor's scorecard of 98-92 in favour of Fury is one of the worst scorecards i've ever seen, and it's the reason the rules changed in regards to referee's scoring British title fights. It's plainly obvious he was biased as McDermott's dad had knocked him out in a fight in the 70s so clearly it was his petty way of getting some payback on the McDermott family.

Juan Diaz v Julien Lorcy (lightweight title)

Another Juan Diaz fight. Just have to say I really enjoyed watching his fights. Always an amount of action going on in the ring when he was involved. Man, I don't know what Lorcy had upstairs to withstand the onslaught of Diaz, but I gotta give him an A for effort for the pounding he took. I really don't know what fight Teddy Atlas was watching. He had it very close throughout and I just didn't see what he was seeing. Won't bother with a card here. I only gave Lorcy the 7th round and a share of the 11th for a score of 119-110 for Diaz (actual scores: 118-110, 118-110 and a 119-109 all for Diaz).

Any morning spent matriculating with the Schoolboy is certainly a good way to expand one’s learning.

I think I know of Davey Montana … the Arizona Kid, right? The one from Manhattan. Or was that his brother, Freddie Montana, the Salt Lake Assassin … the one from Jersey?

Just rewatched Tapia-Ayala 1 and man that was a hell of a fight. There was just so many swings in momentum, an this was definitely a hard fight to score. I had it for Tapia 115-113, but I can easily see it for Ayala or a a Draw. Here's my scorecard below. Bout to watch the 2nd fight right now.

Paulie Ayala vs Johnny Tapia II

The 2nd fight, though very good did not outdo the 1st fight, but Tapia boxed Ayala's ears off. Beautiful ring generalship, defense and Accuracy from Tapia. This was a huge robbery IMO. The 1st fight goes either way, the 2nd fight goes to Johnny Tapia hands down. Here's my scorecard below.

    Casamayor vs Freitas

A fight to determine the best 130 pound fighter in the division after Floyd's departure to 135. This was a great fight, both fighters came to win, I do think the KD called in the 3rd round was a bad call, I think today that would have been called a slip, but nonetheless you score it based off of the referee call. Freitas controlles most of the first half, Casamayor the second half, but that 12 round was a beauty. A very close fight either way, but I score it a draw. My scorecard is down below.

    Pascal-Diaconu 2.

Not as good as the first one, didnt get the american tv like the first one and lost about 5000 in attendacne compared to the first dance but...
Still a good watch with both just below the first meeting in performance imo.Plenty of drama with Pascal shoulder popping out several times nad in the 10th looked like he was close to quitting and Russ Anber popped back in.
Decent effort from Diaconu but few and far between efforts.Nasty looking gargoyle like swelling on his face by the end.

Genaro is an underrated artist and I'll always wonder about Raul's potential. He had a pretty wild record for a time there before it all fell apart.
