Review:this fight...is the second time I agreed with the hometown judge, first time I saw the cards(before I saw the fight fully of course) it thought the hometown judge is just being biased as usual, only to find out that this fight is literally a bigger robbery than most controversial fights the fans argue about,I saw this a total shutout by Rachman as he was able to infight and pressure Condes, outlanding Condes both total punches and clean punches, even with the two downs Condes was still getting roughed up in the inside by Rachman, horrible decision...

I took a look at my scorecard - I saw this fight years ago. Close fight, but I had Condes winning 114:113.
I respect Your local patriotism though! )

I dunno how other people saw the fight, but your opinion is yours, scorecards varies,I just thought this fight obviously belongs to Rachman with his infighting and such,I thought he was gonna outbox Condes all day but nope, Rachman decided to go toe-to-toe and could've won,if only the judges agreed with my scorecards..

Herol Graham v Vinny Pazienza (12 rounds for some crap international title)

    Round 1: 10-9 Graham
    Round 2: 10-9 Graham
    Round 3: 10-10 Even
    Round 4: 10-9 Graham
    Round 5: 10-9 Graham
    Round 6: 10-9 Paz
    Round 7: 10-9 Paz
    Round 8: 10-9 Paz
    Round 9: 10-9 Paz
    Round 10: 10-9 Paz
    Round 11: 10-9 Graham
    Round 12: 10-9 Graham

Total: 115-114 Graham (actual scores: 116-113, 118-113 and 117-112 all for Graham)

The fight was somewhat tepid through the first 5 rounds before Paz started stepping it up. It was never scintillating but at least it picked up to make it interesting. Graham at this age (38) was not the whirling dervish that could counter everything thrown his way. But he did just enough on my card to get over the line. Paz started his stuff with the corner and Graham to get the crowd working, which was good, because Graham's style by this advanced age with the extended right and dangling left along with the soft counters wasn't really clicking. But the crowd enjoyed it by the end.

Well, you can get to a Rahman card pretty easily if you score one or two of the swing rounds to him. Only significant point of disagreement would be who won the first couple of rounds, I think.

I was marveling at Sandy Saddler vs Del Flanegan. Very, very unusual to see a undefeated record like that in 1950. Great scrap too. Enjoy!!

Bobby Chacon vs Rafael Limon 4

    1 Limon
    2 Chacon
    3 Limon 10-8 knockdown
    4 Limon
    5 Chacon
    6 Chacon
    7 Limon
    8 Chacon
9 Chacon close to a 2 point round IMO.
    10 Limon 10-8 knockdown
    11 Limon
    12 Limon
13 Chacon close to a 2 point round again.
    14 Chacon
    15 Chacon 10-8 knockdown

    141-141 Draw

I've only seen this fight once and that was atleast a decade ago when i was a little kid, amazing fight definitely in my top 10 favourite fights of all time i literally got goosebumps watching it. I ended up with a draw but i have no issues with Chacon winning the fight i think he had the bigger rounds overall and the late rally was probably enough in the eyes of the 3 judges who all had very fair scorecards.

I will say i thought Chacon did have an argument for a 10-8 in the 9th round he battered Limon all over the ring in the last 40 seconds. It was so brutal that i was very close to scoring it 10-8 although i felt Limon was competitive in the round prior to that which is why i only scored 10-9 but i don't think it was far off a 10-8 round.

Quite frankly i'm amazed Limon stayed on his feet until the final seconds of the 15th, there was quite a few rounds that Chacon pummelled Limon from pillar to post and we're talking like 30 or 40 seconds barrage of punches with Limon wobbling all over the place taking flush shots it was a sight to see.

Overall fights like this remind you why you are a boxing fan what a treat this fight was.

    Cornelius Boza-Edwards vs Rafael Limon

    1 Edwards
    2 Edwards
    3 Limon
    4 Edwards
    5 Edwards 10-8 knockdown
    6 Edwards
    7 Edwards
    8 Limon
    9 Limon
    10 Limon
    11 Edwards
    12 Edwards
13 9-9 Limon won the round but had a point deducted.
    14 Limon
    15 Edwards

    144-139 Edwards

Another great fight i have to say i was bit surprised in the first 7 rounds or so Edwards gave Limon a bit of clinic outboxing him clearly at range in quite a measured performance from Edwards surprisingly. The 2nd half of the fight become more of what we'd expect to see from these two fighters as Limon made it more of a brawl and was able to win more rounds. It was a fun competitive fight but i thought Edwards clearly won due to the early rounds he built up too much of a lead.

Just a few more things to point out Limon was quite dirty in this fight in regards to low blows, and i thought he could've had more than 1 point deducted the referee allowed Limon to get away with quite alot in all honestly. 2 Judges had it 146-139, 146-140, which i thought was ok although i thought that they were a little harsh on Limon i definitely think he won more than 4 rounds. The 3rd judge had it 143-141 which i think was a bit too close for my liking. I think overall having Limon winning between 5 or 6 rounds is about right IMO.

Marvelous Marvin Hagler vs Roberto Duran

Just got around to scoring this fight and it was the best display of "switch hitting" I've ever seen in boxing. It was marvelous the way he was hitting Duran from all angles and switched stances effortlessly throughout the fight. Duran had a lot of great moments as well and landed some solid right hands on Haglers Chin.

One of the better fights of the 80s for sure. As far as the judges go I think they gave Duran a little too much credit in the fight. I had it 10-5 for Hagler, I can see it 9-6 but at least the judges got it right. Here's my scorecard below.
