    Regis Prograis vs Josh Taylor

He'll of a fight, one that's hardly talked about anymore. I had it dead even 4 rounds a piece after 8. Taylor took 9-10, Prograis finished stronger IMO snatching the 11th and twelfth. I mean it was that close, 7-5 either way would be justified. A fight that should have had a rematch.

    114-114 EVEN a Draw.

    Prograis rounds: 1, 3, 4, 8, 11*, 12
    Taylor rounds: 2, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10

11* very close Round, very hard to score.

    YD
I have the fight 134-133 for Olson,I might be kind of biased for infighters, but SRR's shots looks like it was smothered for most of the time by Olson, but acceptable decision and good fight.

I have never, until now, known anyone to willingly watch a Henry Tillman fight, haha.

His fight with Bert Cooper isn't half bad.

Neither did I. This just popped on my You Tube cache and since its like 10 minutes long, I decided to watch lol

I did watch his fight with Holyfield live through. Hey, I was 14, he had beaten the monster of the day, Mike Tyson, in the amateurs, he was also undefeated and we had no idea how great Holyfield was going to be! LOL

I wanted to see some Henry Armstrong today and saw this shortened version of this contest.

    Henry was a punch machine.

This was the end of Ike's prime,as he would lose the title in his next fight vs Jimmy Carter, but I thought this was a "competitive masterclass",Fritzie Pruden seems like a live underdog but Ike really beat him with the jab and the cross, and with this being the clearest and longest footage of Ike, it's a bit interesting you got the long form of his skills instead.

I liked the way Ike would roll, slip and duck, then instantly smothering Pruden at the close quarters, like James Toney, his jab was a pawing one but it's very accurate, everytime Pruden tries to jump in Ike 90% of the time managed to outjab him, when Pruden adjusts and managed to jab Ike a bit, Ike would mix it up with his cross and framing more, interesting, scientific fight with a fair share of action, very good.

The woman to the left on that picture, the person wearing white cloth makes her look like she is a dead saint watching the fight at ringside!

Kovalev was so good back then. Never quite the same after that fight.

It probably demotivated him, he probably thought with him performing so well and not being able to do any more, winning clearly and still not getting the decision, he probably thought, ‘what’s the point?’ Subconsciously.

Y'know, all these years I've always seen the highlights but never watched the fight. Remedying this today.

Archie Moore v Yvon Durelle I (light heavyweight title) -5-point must in effect

    Round 1: 5-1 Durelle (scores 3* knockdowns)
    Round 2: 5-4 Moore
    Round 3: 5-4 Durelle
    Round 4: 5-4 Moore
    Round 5: 5-3 Durelle (scores a knockdown)
    Round 6: 5-4 Moore
    Round 7: 5-3 Moore (scores a knockdown)
    Round 8: 5-4 Moore
    Round 9: 5-4 Moore
Round 10: 5-3 Moore (scores a knockdown and Durelle is saved by the bell)
Round 11: Moore drops Durelle twice and Durelle is counted out on the second knockdown

Total through 10 completed rounds: 43-41 Moore (actual scores: 44-42, 44-42 and 46-45 all with Moore leading)

*Regarding that 1st round, I always heard and read about the 3 knockdowns - from my Dad too. But I read on boxrec that referee Jack Sharkey called one of them a slip or a trip. I replayed the round and sure enough, lost in the excitement, one can see Sharkey waving off the second knockdown. Regardless of the official call, Moore was out of it. It looked to me almost like he fell over. there was no trip or slip, he was buzzed and it should be scored a knockdown. But, the official call is what counts. I, however, still call the round a 5-1 because despite only 2 official knockdowns, I am utilizing the 5 point must because Durelle battered the life out of old Archie that round and was deserving of that full score.

As for the rest of the fight. Man, what can I say? Just a fantastic fight. Durelle was strong as an ox and he was terrific on the attack. But Archie's jab was the key in this fight. It was hard and fast and delivered in ones. And it just started chewing away at Durelle's resolve as well as his jaw and face. And when Archie followed it with a right or in combination, Durelle's head was just jarring from those sharp punches. A study in whittling down a fighter over a period of time. Just an awesome fight.
