Make it one of your next fights to watch :good Super fight with lots of action....up there with Simpson-Truscott II I'm completely backlogged too.....haven't even watched Woods-Cloud yet :verysad
Pacquaio-Morales 1 & 2. Not sure there was that much difference between the Morales of the first fight, and of the second. I think the main difference was Pacquaio's performance. First fight he was fighting one handed, he had a big cut and was letting Morales get off first. Second fight Pac was using both hands, making sure he was first, even used his jab. Morales was actually ahead at the half way stage of the second fight, Pac was just able to hurt him more, especially to the body with the "punchers gloves". So I tend to think the level of Morales' decline was about the same in both fights. Ironic commentary about Pac being more effective as a natural FEATHERWEIGHT and Morales being bigger and stronger than him at 130.
Just got around to watching the Woods card that I had sky+'d: Woods - Cloud - Woods did well in the first half of the fight, but in the latter rounds he got tagged by more often than you would like to see by the more dynamic, slicker puncher. Urango - Bailey - excellent fight, Bailey was on top in the first half of the fight and scored a great knock down in the 6th, but Urango keep up the pressure and just broke down Bailey and dominated until Bailey's corner through the towel in....
Watched some highlights of Pascual Perez fights (what a puncher great footspeed and bobbing and weaving too) Watched both Moon-Konadu fights and now gonna go and watch Arguello vs Marcel :good
khan-Barrera Even though barrera had the bad cut, Khan looked very strong and quick at weight. An excellent performance by Khan, but it the job was easier due to the cut and Barrera was well past his sell by date. *That said, Jim Watt, basically totally dismissed the cut that barerra got and said Khan was perfect, the cut didnt matter etc.
Salvador Sanchez vs. Pat Cowdell Tyson Fury vs. John McDermott Freddy Roach vs. Reynaldo Zaragoza Rocky Lockridge vs. Eusebio Pedroza
I disagree Morales had declined significantly since the first fight, he was passing/passed his best in the first anyway but still had one last performance in him. Pacquiao hadn't improved immeasurebly by that stage to beat a morales with something left in the tank, don't forget morales had just been outboxed by zahir raheem, pacquiao gets waaay to much credit for that rematch in fact those wins over barrera and morales don't sit well with me.
Just watched this, a great occasion at the Kings Hall Belfast, even if a dull fight, but very nice highlights in the link below. Loved the atmosphere at the end and Rinty singing with the crowd.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awYS-L2ARgI
Judah - Cotto *Great fight. This one really whets the appetite for Cotto v Pacman. Cotto got caught by a few lefts from Judah and that was a flaw in this fight. But he just broke down Judah and gave him a beating. He was stronger and bigger and if Pacman doesnt catch Cotto with a big power shot it will be very interesting to see how he handles the relentless pounding pressure from Cotto. He is such a warrior.
