NO NO NO, all those just stating which fights they watched....NOT GOOD ENOUGH! it too easy

you've gotta go a little deeper, put some clothes on it, bit of analysis and what you're conclusion's were, gives you more credibilty

I am about to watch:

De la Hoya v Mosley II.

*I have been reading about this fight in Budd Schulbergs book - Ringside. He was lamenting the HBO coverage of this fight in favour of De la Hoya and how they were wrong to be 'outraged' by the UD decision in favour of Mosley.

Foreman was one of the trio commentating for HBO that night who denounced the decision as 'highlight robbery'. Foreman even went as far to say that it was a fix against promoter Bob Arum. Interestingly, Schulberg notes that he met Foreman on the way out of the arena that evening and said that Foreman was surprised that he viewed the fight differently. Bert Sugar chimed in to back up Schulberg in agreeing that Mosely was the clear winner, for Foreman to concede "wow, if you two think that Mosely won, maybe I went too far". Interestingly, Schulberg, praises, "the clear eyed Steve Bunce" (who was covering the fight for the BBC) for calling it as he did.

Anyhow, with that preview, I decided to re-watch this one:

Yep, just watched Mosley v De la hoya II

Close fight, but Mosley deserved the decision. Those HBO guys had a bad night at the office, the commentating was so disrespectful of Mosley. Mosely came into the fight from the 3rd round. The concern in Mosley's corner was misinterpreted by the commentators, Mosleys father was being pessimestic to Shane, because Vegas loves de la hoya the money man, hence he wanted Shane to totally dominate each round, rather than just nick the rounds.

Good fight, going watch the first one now.

 

thats Olivares at his best watch how fast he closes down Rose and dosent give him time to box. Rose incidentally is one of the best pure boxers of all time.

I have watched so many fights and documentaries recently its crazy. The first thing that has struck me is how good HBO are. They make British boxing coverage look so amateurish. That Max Kellerman is a ****ing wanker as well. His bias against Calzaghe is disgraceful while the rest of the team are basking in the talent on show.

BTW Analysis gives away the result. Do we really want that for people like myself who are catching up and aren't necessarily aficionados (yet)

 

I've got to watch this one again; really felt De laHoya was robbed at the time of watching it.

 

I thought DLH beat Mosley second time, he counter punched this time instead of taking the lead and his jab was controlling things for 5/6 rounds, Mosley looked clueless and out of ideas at one point, he (Mosley) finished strong whilst DLH faded but i still thought Oscar did enough to win.

If you was to ask the question, who implemented what they wanted to do in the fight, it would have to be DLH imo.

 

Andre Dirrell Vs Derrick Findley - Dirrell looked decent in patches, quick hands, very limited opposition though, I feel he could of got him out there a lot earlier, was playing with him a little, nice sharp letf.

Diego Corrales Vs Joel Casamayor 1 - Everyone knows the script for this one, re-watching the trilogy for the umpteenth time, wathcing 2 and 3 tonight.

Watched highlight of:

Dirrell vs Victor Oganav/Mike Paschall/Anthony Hanshaw...

Dirrell has quick hands, can throw fast single left hooks, straight left, straight rights and triple jab. He seems to have most power in his left shots. I dont think he has the power to really trouble Froch. Plus, I think he has a suspect chin (he has been down against Alfonso Rocha and I felt he deserved a count in round 1 against Hanshaw). Oganov and Hanshaw had success with the left hook to Dirrell and apparently Alfonso knocked Dirrell down with a left when they fought.

From what I seen, i think Froch will stop Dirrell and will not have too much trouble doing it.

Froch has been talking about hitting Dirrell a lot to the body early on and i think that would be a good way to go. Direll seems to drop his hands after a few rounds and I think that will happen more quickly against Froch if he goes to work downstairs. Dirrell is actually very lucky to be in this Supersix, there are others such as Bute who would have been stiffer competition, but I think Showtime probably wanted more American fighters in it.

 

You can't go wrong with this.
