Great footwork from both men, really interesting fight for new boxers to analyse from the "movement" perspective. See how the man holding the centre of the ring changes, and how one is less effective holding it than the other...

 

Re-watched Taylor-Abraham, Froch-Dirrell.

Final thoughts:

Dirrell won the fight. I gave Froch four rounds. Dirrell was guilty of spoiling tactics, but Froch was just as guilty and commited many blatant, frequent fouls that he got away with. Even with the point deduction, Dirrell clearly won the fight. Froch is an accident waiting to happen. Dirrell is very green but has a lot of talent and should go far. It wouldn't surprise me if by the third fight in the super-six he has become a much more well-rounded fighter.

Abraham-Taylor, not much to say. Abraham should be considered amongst the P4P elite, his defense is one of the best in world boxing. He may not be the most learned fighter in the six, but he is strong and accurate enough to beat anyone unlucky enough to be put in front of him. As for taking too long to get going..."the fight starts when Arthur Abraham says it does!".

Taylor should probably retire. He can't compete anymore at the level which he's operating at against the Kessler and Abraham's off this world.

 

Lee Meager Vs Jon Thaxton - Very good little fight, Thaxton looked too fast, too slick and stronger than Meager. Meager was game as **** though and had some success when he threw more.

Darren Barker Vs Paul Samuels - Funny little one rounder where Samuels made Barker stumble (his gloves touched the floor) but as the ref called stop and tried to squeeze between the pair Barker landed a sweet KO, bit controversial.

 

Trinidad vs Reid & Vargas. Very interesting battles. The Vargas fight is always worth rewatching.

Lopez vs. Mtagwa (don't know how Juanma managed to hang on)

also i have watched heaps of arguello today from his first defence as a feather to his winning the WBC lightweight title from Watt

Arguello has gone up even further in my love for him as at featherweight he was much looser and relaxed and used good movement aswell. Was a top quality fighter there very hard to beat but he lacked tht technical skills he lter perfected.

At SFW i think he became the full package except for that brief slump from the Fernandez fight to the leon fight where he was real flat. Still very well rounded.

At LW he was amazing vs Watt really boxed bueatiful the there and jim was opne tough cookie

 

One of the best fights I've ever seen. Fought at an exceptionally quick pace, some beautiful boxing on display, both guys landing power shots at will. Both showing heart and determination, and both hurting each other. The stoppage coming after Arguello had been hurt in the previous round also added to the drama.

 

yeh its my best fight of all time

the first round is better than Hagler vs hearns IMO

I watched Fernando Torres raping Rio Ferdinand this afternoon. It was a pretty one-sided and personally I thought the ref should have stopped the mis-match a bit sooner to save Ferdinand from further embarrassment.
