I just downloaded the main event so don't know about the undercard. There were only two other fights shown and one of them lasted less than a round. Vanes-Ouma was a good fight.

Been working my way through the ''HBO Legendary Nights'' features on YT in the past few days.

    Bowe vs Golota
    Bowe vs Holyfield
    Lewis vs Tyson
    Douglas vs Tyson
    Foreman vs Moorer
    Chavez vs Taylor
    De La Hoya vs Trinidad
    Leonard vs Hearns
    Leonard vs Hagler
    Hagler vs Hearns

Leonard really was a twat toward Hagler, changed my opinion of him a fair bit actually.

    Chris Eubank vs Tony Thorton

Eubank was now 3 fights from the Watson re-match and was, despite what he says, into his "I'll out-point them before I hurt them" phase.

Thorton, however, gave an excellent performance pushing Eubank all the way throughout the fight and testing his chin a number of times. Eubank couldn't simply fall into his "out-point" mode and had to get into a decent fight. However, skill, as normally happens, was too much for heart to overcome and Eubank rightfully won a unaniminous decision. I, for the record, had him win by 3 rounds.

    Last night, rather than today...

Roy Jones Jr vs Bernard Hopkins...

It seems strange that this was 17 years ago and was, for both guys, their first ever "World Title" fight. You can see the traits that are now associated with both guys throught the contest but they are obviously still "works in progress".

Jones just edged it for me by 2 rounds. B-hop got off to a decent start but then let Jones take the inititive. A strong finish for Hopkins, though impressive, was not enough to earn a draw.

If they had had an immediate re-match I think Hopkins could have won but anything between 1995 and 2000 and Jones wins eaisly. Although Hopkins would eventully become one of the best technical fighters in the sport Jones developed into the fighter he became soon after this fight; a long time before Hopkins hit his peak.

Just watched Barrios-Guzman. Cracking fight!!! Was on the undercard of Barrera-Juarez II which also had Gonzalez-Vazquez. What a card that was!

I had Guzman winning 115-112 but the point deduction for Barrios was stupid.

Did Barrios enter in a football top? or am i thinking of Soto? I remember watching one when Guzman was just emerging with my brother and all the mini tyson talk was going on, think it was on sky. I don't think i have seen my brother any more disappointed than that night  He was waiting for a killer KO like Sextons last night
