I think Margarito had an ATG welterweight chin. To fight the way he does with basically zero defence and walk onto hooks, uppercuts and straights all night against Mosley for nine rounds and be able to complain about the stoppage shows that. Not only that fight of course..... I mean, he took hidings from Cintron and Cotto until they could give no more and eventually submitted to him, plus he's been in with heavy hitters before. I guess the truer test would have been up at 154 against the likes of DLH, Trinidad and Vargas, who were for all intents and purposes his contemporaries in the higher weight class.
Yeah I agree. It's the first time I've seen it, from what I'd heard previously I'd assumed there was a little time left in the round rather than it being right on the bell. Ten more seconds to fire a hook or an uppercut and it was good night :-(
I concede. A good point well made. There are a few I'd pick to take him out conclusively and quicker than Mosley, quite a few. But that's more to do with a lack f defence and his style rather than downgrading his chin.
Oh yeah, I agree with that.... if Tommy Hearns landed he'd go pretty sharpish. Mosley's power often gets underrated.... 39/46 is pretty good, especially considering he's faced DLH x 2 and Collazo who are both well equipped chin wise.... 39/43 leaving them aside. That said he isn't the biggest one punch hitter, but has fast enough hands to lay enough of a beating down on an opponent to put them to sleep.... plus he has a quality chin himself to be able to take it to fire back with interest. I'd say Hearns certainly, probably Trinidad - though he'd have to get off his arse to do so.....

On the subject of this does anyone here download fights (up until now I've been a strictly dvd trade/buy person but reckon it would save me a lot of cash if I downloaded some stuff, is it easy, which sites are safe? etc. Didn't wanna start another thread just for this and thought this would be the best place to ask.
I've been looking for a while. I haven't found much to be honest. Big HBO fights are fairly easy to come by and some classic big fights from the 80s and 90s, but there isn't much. The main problem is the lack of people seeding fights making it impossible to download. Isohunt, kickasstorrents, piratebay have some fights.
Watched Robinson vs LaMotta in 1951, The St. Valentine's Day massacre Amazing fight. I was expecting Robinson to be great and he was, but I was really impressed with LaMotta. In the first half of the fight he was giving Ray plenty of competition. He was working great behind the jab, throwing great combos and backing Sugar up. He's savage at rolling with the punches as well, he's got a great short left hook and works the body really well. Ray really did start to break him down in the 8th & 9th round. It was like he just stepped it at times in the round when he could see LaMotta tiring. From then on he's just giving him a beating, in the last couple of rounds landing at will with almost nothing coming back. The right hook that lead to the stoppage was huge, I can't imagine how he kept standing up till the ref stopped it. I'm always amazed watching the old fights how tough those guys were.
Can't believe this fell to page 4. Anyway, I watched Winky vs Bernard again today, what a masterpiece by Hopkins mainly, some people can judge styles and matchups better from being there live and in the mix. For myself, I have never been able to do this. I was at Mandalay Bay for this fight and told anybody within ear's distance that Wink beat Hopkins by two rounds. However, when I watched the replay it was like watching a whole new fight and gave it to Bernard by at least two rounds. Winky made so many bad decisions in his career, still can't believe he refused the Taylor rematch and took the Bernard bait.
Watched the Martirosyan v Ouma fight on youtube. Was a ******* but wrong guy won imo. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFAl-KCbnzc[/ame]
I watched Neville Brown vs Hassine Cherifi the other day. Incredible fight, although it seems like I am the only ****er to have watched it :yep Also watched: Lueshing vs Saunders II (another incredible fight) Hamed vs Johnson Ryan vs Monaghan
I put up a post before about best and worse corner decisions and I mentioned Eddie Futch and how he pulled out Frazier in the 14th round... I think that is the best decision I have ever seen by a trainer in a fight...:yep So I decided to watch that fight...:good
I was watching leonard/hearns II with Hagler commentry, i forgot that Marvelous Marvin was a co-commentator and how biased he was for Hearns and just how deep his hatred towards Leonard really was lol. Also cought this little break they did talking about Manny Steward growing up in West Virginia and how Manny would fight in unsanctioned real life human **** fights growing up?
