today i watched pacquiao vs marquez II for about the 20th time and i also watched my Joe Calzaghe DVD :good

 

Ruiz Vs Toney didn't realise how far RJJ was up Toneys arse i thought they would have hated each other for some reason. Good watch for a heavyweight fight shame about the aftermath of it it all.

Didn't realise how much Roy also respected the power of Ruiz as well something haye should watch for as Ruiz ain't as bad as people make out boring yes, effective yes.

 

Ad Marquez winning the 2nd Pac fight 115-112, what about you S79407274941?

Watched Harada-Kingpetch 1, a masterful display by Harada against an awkward fighter. Kingpetch is not remembered too fondly, but I like the way je can use his right uppercut sneakily, as a counter punch, on the inside, can lead with it, all sorts. He isn't fleet footed but uses economic movement and his lanky frame to evade punches with small leans. He sometimes probes with his jab but can use it well.

But in this fight Harada is phenomenal. Imagine Calzaghe-Lacy but with a truly great fighter against a genuinely good opponent (on the night, I'd actually say Kingpetch was an ATG Flyweight) but Jarada eventually beats him to a standstill. Unbelievable combination punching swarming attack and effective tenning of the jab (not doubling or quadrupling but throwing his jab out many MANY times ) before another unbelievable attack, Harada cemented my lofty ranking for him (no.40 in my ATG P4P list)

watched a bit of Jose Stable too, against a game fighter called Shomo. Stable has a nice pop to his punches, mixes between head and body well. I liked his style, and have given him my avatar, until Chambers does the business tomorrow night :deal

Its not even Calzaghe vs Lacy. It is just Harada throwing lots of hard punches for 12 rounds or so.

The rematch is an awesome fight, real great to watch.

That Stable fight is decent aswell. Stable has awful balance though.

 

In fairness if someone had treat me the way Leonard had treat Hagler over the years he'd be in no fit state to box for a living

luis rodriguez vs jesse smith

for me rodriguez wins nine of the rounds smith spends most of the fight following rodriguez without throwing much as he just seems to be looking for the one big ko punch
in fact as early as the 2nd round the crowd are slow clapping the action. but for me rodriguez puts on a good boxing display against a naturally bigger man and ends the fight taking the attack to his opponent throwing bolo punches for what seems like a constant stream for about 30 seconds

It's the most overrated trilogy in recent times. The first fight was good with one very good round, the second was bordering on a shutout.... no need for a 3rd fight.

The Barrera/Morales, Morales/Pacquiao and Vazquez/Marquez trilogies **** all over it.

Quite enjoyed it actually. Especially the way over the top ring introductions!

 

Dawson vs Tarver (both fights) the second i actually didn't see 'live'.

Chad put on a boxing lesson, I read alotta reports that Tarver gave Chad the business and I'm not a Tarver fan at all but keep in mind Tarver was never out boxed like that, Bernard out boxed him but not like that. Chad imo proved in this fight and since that he's an elite fighter he showed he still as a upside and that's key in any sport, he kept his hands high much better and damn near turned with every punch Tarver shot at him. Tarver looked slow partly because he was old but also because Chad is that fast. We praise all these other guys for wars let's give the "boxers" some shine after all the sport was founded on the "sweet science".

There's always a style to beat another style though and i would've loved to have seen him and Calzaghe, that would've been the best chess match in boxing.
