Harold does have his moments, doesn't he... but overall he's pretty solid imo. It's always funny when his daughter disagree's with him though which is very rare tbh, she's a much better judge then him though.

I'm watching Mosley vs Margarito now.....

One thing I did miss on the unclear vids I've seen since that drunken night/morning is Mosley's combinations to the body, and how he opens Margarito up by feinting a body shot and throwing the head shot instead.

Whenever Margarito started to open up Shane just got himself really close to take the leverage away, risky but effective.

Shoji Oguma Vs Chan Hee Park III

A very good fight this. Oguma has a way of walking people onto shots that make them stubby and jarring. He suffers some horrific cuts and comes back from a good first round from Park, but both men are ****ed by the end and Oguma is forced to mix up his approach more, showing off his intelligent inside fighting, in which he can use small head movements or crafty shots on the refs blind side in order to get the better of the exchange.

Ogumas face is an absolute mess. I didn't score it, but felt Oguma came through down the stretch.

Park, as always, impressed me as an offensive force. His mixing of shots to the head and body is something to behold.

 

Had myself a watch of Chris Eubank v Graciano Rocchigiani...

Awfully tough fight to score, I had it 114-113 Eubank but I certainly couldn't argue against a Rocchigiani win, if it had happened today most of us would have been expecting a 116-112 card for Rocchigiani to be read out. 118-109 Eubank was absolutely shocking from that one judge, as bad as that 119-109 given to Williams over Martinez

Eubank bossed the first few rounds, hands by his side ducking and weaving to draw Roccihgiani in before firing flurries into the guard. Work to the body was top draw, ripping them in from left and right although the high guard from the German never strayed.

The jab of Rocchigiani was very nice, and when he used it he could pressure Eubank and score back with shots of his own. The point deduction in the 11th for ducking too far was pretty harsh I felt, Rocchigiani would push the head down of Eubank and than complain about it to the ref! and that deduction is the reason why it could (maybe even should) have been a loss for Eubank. Watt was sure Rocchigiani was sweeping the final rounds although I had a slightly differing view.

Its an interesting performance from Eubank, inside the ring and outside in his performing to the crowd. He was absloutely soaking up the reaction for the Germans, and it contributed to the German fans putting on a great atmosphere!

 

Cuevas vs Grey

DLH vs Mayweather (115-115) - Floyd landed a lot less than the stats suggest and Oscar's less accurate shots were far more powerful and effective than Floyd's accurate ones. It gets said all the time, but if Oscar could have maintained his jab and had better stamina he would have outpointed Floyd. Both pricks.

Seriously? I thought Floyd won it relatively clearly myself, haven't seen it for ages though.

 

Nearly everyone says this and last time I scored it I thought Floyd won. The way I saw it this time, Floyd landed cleaner punches, but even the ones partially landed by Oscar were more powerful and had a greater effect than Floyd's.

The HBO commentary was very misleading. I didn't think Oscar's jab for the most part was working as well as others believed apart from in a few of the middle rounds. When he used it it was very effective, landing cleanly and forcing Floyd to backwards and not countering. Oscar was effective with his feints which Floyd consistently bought which forced him to the ropes where Oscar did his best work. When he didn't go crazy/lazy he did quite well all things considered.

When Floyd kept in the middle of the ring he was the boss, but he was too inactive and therefore didn't win enough rounds

 

Haven't seen it since the night and didn't score it but I felt Oscar was unlucky and if he did lose it, it was only down the stretch.

 

De La Hoya vs Mosley 1 (112-116) - Clear win for Mosley in the end. Mosley stepped it up a gear in the 8th round and Oscar couldn't match him

 

I wonder how DLH will look back on his career in say 10 years time :think
