Wathed Calzaghe vs Hopkins last night. Hopkins really did beat him clearly.

 

Defo mate, what the hell was Hopkins playing at with the clowning about? It was classic Hopkins up to that point, his punches were way more effective, then he goes and spoils all that good work acting like a fanny.

Yeah, thats probably the reason he lost, between that and his racial pre fight antics. But, he was landing the right hand on Calzaghe all night. Incredible for a 42 year old man, makes you wonder what shakes he uses?:hey

 

I'm sorry but no one won that fight "clearly" the best thing you could say for Hopkins is it could've gone either way. But Hopkins gassed too early and Joe took it in the second of the fight and deserved the decision IMO.

I don't see how anyone can say Hopkins won it clearly tbh. The same Hopkins who was loading up one shot at a time like them old rifles they used in the American civil war and gasping for dear life at the end, faking low blows to get some rest? lol

I was disappointed in Bernard in this fight, He had a chance to win, and let it get away. Joe was waaayyy busier than Hopkins and that's what won him the fight, it was on the table and Joe took it, Bernard did nothing! It was like finding 10 quid on the ground and Joe was like, "I'll take it if you don't want it".

Had nothing to do with racial pre fight antics or anything, styles make fights and Joe always makes Hopkins uncomfortable.

 

Agree with most of that. Except I had Hopkins winning 114-113. Would have been a draw if not for the knockdown. Wasn't a clear fight either way. A younger Hopkins wins 8-4 or 9-3 in my opinion.

 

Felix Trinidad Vs ''Yory Boy'' Campas

what a chin Campas had, despite being stopped in the forth took i dont know many massive shots from trinidad. Campas landed a very short left hook (from bout 2 inches) to put Tito down in the 2nd

Felix Trinidad Vs Oba Carr (Motor City Car)

Again Trinidad was down in the second but gets into gear around the 4th and stops him in the 8th. One thing i noticed is Tito always seems to throw after the bell and has the habit of straying very low at times. And who said Barrera was a dirty fighter. ( Oba Carr was also trained by that **** Panama Lewis)

Felix Trinidad Vs Roger Turner

Well timed left hook in the 2nd and Turner dosen't recover proply and dosen't defend himself and drops his hands only for Trinidad to close the show.

Felix Trinidad Vs Larry Barnes

Again, a lovely left hooks wobbles Barnes and starts the onslaught to be finished with a viscous body shot. Harold Lederman claimed ''He's playing possom'' LOL.

Berto vs. Forbes

I know Forbes has a great story with being born a premie, getting the name of 2 Pound and working so damn hard on The Contender fighting guys 20 lbs heavier. But at 147 he was a shoe shine bum, contender, tomato can and ham-n-eggs. He couldn't punch for sh*t as Calzaghe would say lol and will get badly beaten up by a young lion like Berto i thought...On the contrary this fight convinced me that Berto is just a mirage, a work in progress who's been given a green strap. Not very refined at all. 2 Pound was meant to be just a sacrificial stepping stone because of his 15 mins of exposure from the De La Hoya sweepstakes. People should've seen what was to come with Collazo after this fight.

Great stuff! Tito is essential viewing IMO. Didn't you just love the way he got up cursed you in spanish and tried to walk you down after every knockdown.

IIRC Campas was undefeated when Tito fought him and Oba Car was one of those speed demons who could cause you trouble, remember he gave De La Hoya a few problems with his speed.

Tito was a beast, a character who was so exciting to watch, I really miss him!
