Thing was, I understood maybe letting the KO go. It was a bit confused and he was sort of up as the ref sounded ten. But Kermit's made a career out of emotional outbursts recently.

But the draw scores were ridiculous. They meant, without the deduction (unfair as well) that Sergio, despite the knock down, was only one point ahead. Which meant all things being equal, the judges had it as a draw excluding the KD and the deduction. That's remarkable!

    Duran UD10 Viruet

The crowd booed the decision at the end as they obviously felt Viruet had scaped the win, and being a boxer fighting out of New York this is understandable. I however struggled to give him a round in the first 8. He was good in the last couple but they were extremely close rounds again. Viruet put on a terrific acting job after the bell, persuading many that he had won the fight when in fact he had not won 1 round unquestionably. Duran won, at the very least, 5 rounds. Whereas I would say Viruet won at the most 4 rounds. This is being generous to Viruet in my opinion.

Viruet pissed me off in this fight. He was playing up to the crowd and the judges. He would attempt the Ali shuffle on numerous occasions, looking **** in each. He would often stick his left hand in Duran's face rather than attempting to land any punches. He literally ran around the ring at times in the last few rounds and then at the end he acted (very convincingly, to be honest) like he had been robbed.

No robbery here. A clear win for Duran.

I thought the Khan stoppage was a bit harsh as well, but maybe Paulie is the kind of fighter that has to be saved from himself, he's got heart by the truck load.

I think in situations like that it's up to his corner to bite the bullet and pull him.

Wlad-Sanders for the umpteenth time

Then Sanders-Rahman. What a fight that was!!! Multiple knockdowns and two big guys swinging from the first bell. If you haven't seen it, track it down and give it a watch. You won't be disappointed.

    Rafael Marquez vs Jose Gastelum
    Rafael Marquez vs Angel Almena
    Rafael Marquez vs Genaro Garcia
Rafael Marquez vs Mark Johnson I

Against Gastelum you could see the talent, but Marquez was still raw. The Almena stoppage was a bit premature, but the 1st round stoppage looks impressive on the record considering Almena went the distance with Mark Johnson and hadn't been stopped in any of his other fights.

Against Garcia, Marquez was hit on the back of the head and his equilibrium was all over the place. He was on one knee and telling the ref he was fine, yet this was at the count of 7 and 9, and he didn't stand up until the ref said 10. Mistimed, but he clearly wasn't all there. In his fight against Johnson, Johnson was announced as the winner. I felt fair enough, it was a close fight, but one of the cards was apparently 97-94, even when Johnson had 2 points deducted! Then I checked Boxrec and it listed Marquez as the winner, so I was a bit confused at first :yep

    Benn/Dewitt.

They say Dewitt was passed his best in this match.
    I say balls!:bart
Dewiit was coming off two excellent wins over Simms and Hilton but Benn early and ****ing hard and that just sapped all the strength from him. He did well to floor Benn in the 2nd however with a a decent left hook. But that was pretty much the only bright spot for him.
