Where did you see this fight mate? It's on Youtube, but the quality of it is so bad I can't watch it

Yesterday I watched:

Vazquez vs Dominguez - Vazquez is clearly benefiting from the move down to lightweight. Some see him as a weak belt holder, but he'd give anyone in the division (apart from Marquez) a good fight. Another dominating performance from him.

Segura vs Vargas - Another fun fight involving Segura! Credit to Vargas, he took a lot of punishment and always came back with a reply (and it's not hard to hit Segura), but he was pulled out after a cut eye stoppage (after the 7th round I think?).

 

I found it on some **** Venezuelan website. You're better off watching on Youtube mate, the quality is still shite.

I found it somewhere like 27 pages into a google search with unbelieveably **** quality and then it cut out after two rounds.:fire

He didn''t do to bad with that chin of his, lol. He's a HOFer and perhaps the best light middleweight of all time and it was almost impossible to outbox him. I don't think he could've done much more tbh. Someone like Calzaghe and Toney, who were just as talented have more question marks, leave a lot more room for criticism and had truly frustrating/underachieving careers in regards to their talent and potential.

The only thing that works against Norris is, he didn't move up and most of his big fights were against smaller fighters. I really think Norris was a big welterweight who was more effective at 154 and he knew it. That's why he always called out smaller guys. I think after what Jackson did to him he knew fighting middleweights would be a big problem for him. I never liked how he tried to bully smaller fighters and wanted people like Whitaker, Curry, Trinidad etc. But wanted nothing to do with all those middleweights in his time.

Imagine if he had beat someone like McCallum? he would be even more highly thought of, so that's the only bad spot in his career IMO. Other then that it's not too frustrating.

 

I agree and that's what I meant by finding him frustrating. I think he could have beaten the top Middleweights of that time. He certainly had the ability to do so, granted his chin would hinder him greatly, but I cant imagine thats why he didnt make the move up. I mean, it's not like the Middleweights hit that much harder in Jackson, that guy could KO anybody. A truely talented fighter though, and deserves all the plaudits he gets.

 

Michael Nunn vs James toney. Its up on youtube, great fight , i had Nunn winning by a big Margin before getting caught and stopped in the 11th.

Great skill on show here , Nunn is so underrated.

Hagler vs Minter. Hagler looked great in that fight. Shame about the antics after :-(

 

Don't get me talking about 2nd to Nunn...

Very talented. He was giving it to Toney before he got careless, got overconfident and put to sleep. He got cocky staying in the pocket and traded which was a no, no against that Toney.

It's funny because it's generally accepted that "Lights out" Toney wasn't good with mobility and had a poor footwork, especially compared to all his other skills, but watch this fight and his ability to cut off the ring and stalk was very good. It's a shame how it all turned out for Michael Nunn getting himself into trouble with the law like he did. :verysad

It is, but they go by different rules in the good ole US of A.

IIRC, they were on his tail for a long time, (they being the secret police known as the FBI) and he had a history of drug trafficking according to them. I didn't know it was that incident which got him sent down, but if it was then a sentence of 24 years was extremely harsh IMO. :-(
