Watch Moore-Jones III if you can. Round 3 (I think it's that one?) is one of the best rounds I've ever seen :good

I'm still undecided as to what career set to watch yet. I'll probably plump with Hagler though.

Terry Norris vs. Troy Waters.

This was meant to be a routine defense at home for Terry Norris against the somewhat underrated Troy Waters who was a very good contender, but it turned out to be a competitive fun little fight.

From the first second you could see Norris' intention was to get Waters out of there and put on a show. He walked to Troy and unloaded immediately and had him down with a right hand on the side of Waters' head, as Waters was clearly on the canvas Norris followed up with another right hand, which cost him a point and could've disqualified him. Waters looked badly hurt though so it looked academic as he looked as though he was gonna be stopped at any moment.

Second round Norris walks in to finish him and gets cought with a combination to body (slight low blow which Waters was throwing throughout) and head and to the surprise of everybody knocked Norris down. Terry looked hurt but just goes after Waters. He pounds away on Waters who's against the ropes landing vicious uppercuts and body shots. Norris has no care for defence at this point and is doing everything to get Waters out of there even though he'd just been KD'd and looked hurt. Waters takes the shots, shows great heart and resilience comes back with the odd shot and ends the round with a huge right hand on the bell. Great round!

The third begins and they go right at it again. Norris is putting everything into his punches, concentrating on uppercuts and bodyshots. Waters shows incredible punch resistance, but gets buzzed again. He comes back with another low blow, which seems to bother Norris and has him backing off. The ref says nothing so they continue...Norris then lands a massive counter right hand over the top, just as Waters was throwing and the punch almost lifts Troy Waters feet off the canvas and he takes a seat. The bell goes...Waters doesn't come out for the 4th as his corner stop the fight.

Very exciting fight, even though it was a little one sided. Waters was still coming back and made it competitive while it lasted. Terry Norris was a brillient fighter to watch. His vulnerability, killer instinct and excellent boxing skills just made him so exciting. This fight sort of hinted at what was to come for Norris against Simon Brown, he'd totally fallen in love with his power. Norris just had so much attitude and bravado, he was even taunting Waters for not coming out for the 4th.

Tim Bradley vs. Abregu.

Bradley looked better then i remembered in this fight, very sharp, good feet and countered well. I also think his "lack of power" is overstated a little. He's not a huge puncher, but certainly has enough dig on him to keep you honest and he had a bigger man in Abregu rocking a couple of times. I think him and Khan are on the same sort of level in this department.

One thing is clear though, Bradley doesn't have the physicality to jump up in weight. He should always stay at light welterweight and try and dominate that division. I don't think he's someone who can go up in weight and be successful, Khan and even Ortiz will have more success at 147 because they have the frame for that weight, and are probabily boiling down to 140lbs.

Bradley is like Hagler in that sense. Hagler was a guy who had the perfect frame for middleweight, but didn't have the physicality to move up and be successful. Remember he had some great light heavyweights who were around during his reign and he never challenged any of them for that reason. Bradley at welterweight against an elite fighter will be at a significant disadvantage.

Demetrius Andrade-Alberto Herrera - I'm not all that impressed with Andrade
Carl Thompson-Akim Tafer - Thompson was fighting, so you know what type of fight this was! Great finish.

De La Hoya vs. Chavez 1 (technically yesterday).

This is the best Oscar ever looked. When he was at 140 and should have stayed at 140 a year or two longer, IMHO. He would have created a great legacy for himself there, he was so sharp and his punches were cutting opponents up.

His body was sleek and he was also maturing into a well rounded boxer puncher. He gave up his physicality at 147 and that was a jump of 4 weight classes in 3 years. Oscar’s jab and that half uppercut half hook was ridiculous back then and he stayed on his toes and kept a great rhythm. People sometimes forget what a damn good fighter he was.
