    John Ruiz vs Roy Jones Jr (110-118)

    What surprised me was how easily Jones dominated the fight. Very comfortable win, controlled the tempo and mostly kept the fight in the centre. Still carried a lot of speed with him after bulking up 18lbs.

    Juanma vs Concepcion. Great up and downer Lopez looked a division bigger and had too much power for an outgunned Concepcion:D

    Just finished watching Hasegawa vs Burgos. Burgos started well using his jab and straight punches but round 3 saw Hasegawa bring his left hand into play managing to get off first with his superior hand speed. Took over down the stretch but there were some good exchanges. Especially in round 7 were Burgos looked to have Hasegawa hurt but he fought back ferociously reminded me of the way Pac does when he is hurt :D Scored it a wide UD for Hasegawa 119-110 but it was way more competitive than the scores. Enjoyed it

    Technically today (from midnight) I watched Márquez vs Pacquiao II to rescore. Good fight. Not a great one but one of those that will always be a FOTY candidate. I had it 114-113 to Márquez, the only round that I found really really hard to score was the 11th (or maybe 10th). However, as I'd given it to Márquez when I'd scored it the first time, I kept it like that.

    Pacquiao/Marquez II is overrated. Nowhere near as exciting as it's made out to be IMO. Their first fight is much more interesting if you ask me.

    I don't know how it was talked about afterwards but it was definitely a good fight. But as it was a big fight it was always going to be highly rated. JMM is one of the most exciting fighters in boxing if not the most. It was very close though, JMM wasn't robbed at all.

    Yeah, I need to rescore the first fight, but I'm about to do some of Holyfield vs Lewis II before I go to bed.

    It's mentioned along with the best of the decade, but I don't see it. Was quite exciting, but not really a war, and both have much better fights in terms of excitement (JMM especially, but you know that already ;))

    Adrien Broner vs Fernando Quintero (77-75 Quintero)

    Woeful performance from Broner. Escaped with an MD, but the fight could have easily gone Quintero's way. Adrien was **** in this fight, completely amateur-ish, and all style no substance. Quintero took the fight on 4 days notice, and arguably beat the well hyped prospect. Broner seemed to have no 'control' over his speed, he's just throw flashy shots, most of which would miss, and wouldn't sit down on his shots or time them properly. Quintero applied effective pressure, and outworked Broner throughout the fight on the inside, throwing hundreds of punches and swarming Broner. It was a class, game performance by Quintero and IMO he deserved to win. Atlas had it a draw.

    Broner is deeply flawed.

    Trinidad vs Hopkins. Forgot how good this fight was, total masterclass from B-Hop prob his best ever performance. Tito's corner were poor though, they obviously thought he would knock bernard out and offered little in the way of advice when it was clear he wasnt going to. Loved how B-Hop threw the lead right hand catching Trinidad everytime and managed to totally defuse his left hand, great performance.:D

    I think I first got interesting in Marlon Starling when I was looking into the phenom that was Michael Nunn. Hearing Starling was the Welterweight champ made me think 'how good was he there' and thus, he became a favourite of mine.

    I re-watched it today, and my thoughts haven't changed much. Wasn't really into scoring six or so years ago, but the scorecard I came up with reflected what I thought it'd be like going on how I remembered the action.

    Nunn: 1; 2; 5; 6; 7; 8; 9; 12

    Starling: 3; 4; 10; 11;

    Nunn 116-112 Starling.

    Marlon really pressed the action late, and a Nunn that was already looking disinterested (with both men coming off a big lay off) looked the much bigger guy physically, but couldn't really bully 'The Magic Man' all that much. Unlike most, Nunn found Starlings inviting midriff less difficult to hit (Starling could usually bend at the waist to ensure his body was out of harms way whilst he had the ear muffs on) due to his long arms and fast hands.

    Quality clash of styles, and competitive, but as you'd expect, a comfortable win for Nunn all things considered.
