Humberto 'Chiquita' González vs Saman Sorjaturong. Some fantastic exchanges in this, Gonzalez was relentless in his body attack and looked on the verge of stopping Sorjaturong before in round 7 he shipped a huge counter right that dropped him heavily and opened a bad cut across his eye brow. Sorjaturong jumped on him and let his shots go to force a dramatic stoppage win, great little fight:happy

Hilario Zapata Vs Armado Ursua; brutal upset K.O from the dangerous Ursua. Zapata just couldn't find his range with this guy, who had him in trouble early with his right hand. Just as Zapata seemed to be getting it together, Ursua walked him onto as sweet a rght hook as you'll see, and Zapata was done, falling heavily to the canvas and barely able to get to his feet. AMAZING!

Loads of early Tyson squash matches, as well as his first big test against Jesse Ferguson. Kid Dynamite remains one of the most complete offensive forces I have ever seen P4P.

    Segura Vs Calderon II.

Quite why I just watched this I don't know, as I love Calderon(no homo) and have never taken much of a liking to Segura in the slightest. Watching this gives me about as much joy as watching a puppy with AIDS.

I was taken aback by the first round if I'm honest, as I couldn't recollect Calderon having that much success in it. He allowed Segura to attempt to work his way in with the jab, which Segura throws from pretty low down and slowly works his way up with it - he's hardly Ray Leonard when throwing an up-jab though, as his one is pretty poor and easy to read - which he was able to counter easily by shooting up the middle with jabs/uppercuts and occasionally coming around the side with the hook(all from his leading right hand) before clinching at the right time and not allowing Segura to impose his mahoosive physical presence, though that did see him get warned as a result.

After that, it all bizarrely deteriorated. I mean, Segura did nothing different, Calderon just stopped moving to the same extent he was and allowed Gio to land to the body at will, he was backing up, then ditching that method and going into the trenches. His shots were more eye-catching, sure, but it was evident that this was only going to benefit one of the two. It really puts emphasis on how Calderon has lost his legs though, he's still nimble to a degree, but I think that was exaggerated really due to the fact there was such a size/speed disparity that only made Ivan appear more agile.

On the flip side it means that, while it lasted we got an entertaining scrap. Iron Boy's not adverse to trading, the only problem is though that what he's used to is being able to come from down low, land, and then slip and reel away again, as opposed to what he was faced with here, which was involuntary exchanges where he physically couldn't get out of range, and thus led to a guy who was essentially two/three weight classes bigger pounding the body of a faded fighter. You can't really draw many critisisms of him I don't think, considering the fact that his ring age ha clearly taken it's toll on him over time, I don't really see what he could've feasibly done to not get stopped on this particular night, as much as I'd love to convince myself otherwise.

It wasn't the most entertaining contest but it's clear that the kid is going places. I would have liked to see him step up the pace and look to get Miranda out of there but the rounds will do him good.

    Erik Morales-Manny Pacquiao II.

Morales actually boxed very well in this at times especially in the 5th. Sadly after that though it was all down hill for Morales. His legs just seemed to go and Pac took full control battering him with straight lefts. Underrated fight in my opinion.

    Morales-Pacquaio III.

Pac just too fast and too strong for Morales who past his best. Interesting to note that Pac weighed 144 on the night.

Holyfield vs Bowe 1. Now that is a great heavyweight fight, some ferocious exchanges. How Holyfield survived that monsterous uppercut from bowe in round 10 is quite unbelievable. A great quote from Larry Merchant in that fight "If Holyfield weighs 205lbs his heart must weigh 204":D

Eusebio Pedroza Vs Alfonso Zamora: Pedroza, future ATG 126lber, clearly gained a lot from his move two weightclasses north. His legs are super skinny here, and Zamora blasts him with a brutal overhand right-left hook combo that decimates him. Pedroza tries to get up but is wisely called off.

Savage stuff. Zamora is a genuine contender for hardest puncher P4P of all time, and this, something I've waited to get my hands on for yonks, reaffirms that.

Kuniaki Shibata Vs Alfredo Escalara: Shibata, as always, doesn't care about his suspect chin and does some quality work. In the 2nd, the future champion junior Lightweight lands a sweet uppercut on Shibata...WHO FIRES RIGHT BACK!!!!

Now, here's where it gets interesting. As in some of his other fights, Shibata takes some massive shots before going down, but seems alright. I think I've finally cracked it: ashamed at being dropped, he decides to pretend he's sparked instead. I honestly think that's it. He's obviously badly hurt, but I guess he thinks it's better to look sparked than it is to have the 'shame' of being dropped in the first place. This also seems true in this fight:
