The 'what fights did you watch today?' thread

Quality fight between two quality ten stone fighters. I should know why there was needle, but essentially they were two top American contenders who had to battle it out.

Bruce was robbed against Benitez the first time IMO.

 

The commentator mentioned curry had benitez down 4 times

By the 10 points must system he absolutely beat Benitez beyond any doubt. But I can't remember by the rounds system whether is was a bad decision or not? :think. I think I still shaded it to Curry.

 

Oh no, wait. On rounds I had Benitez 6-4.

Carmen Basilio V Tony DeMarco 2 - some fight and some KO too.

Cassius Clay V Doug Jones - rewatch just to clarify a debate I was having about peak Frazier v a 64 version of Ali. Decent scrap though, better than I remembered.

Benny Paret V Gaspar Ortega - good scrap but the footage is a bit fuzzy.

 

You seen DeMarco waste Saxton? Ouch.

 

Ortega is one of the most fun fighters ever. When my laptop is sorted I'll upload his incredible in-fight with Charlie Scott (forget which of their fights it is) it's incredible.

 

DeMarco is a seriously underrated fighter.vicious punch and strong as ****.he would make for great fights with Quartey and Trinidad

 

Wild as **** but tough to boot. I agree.

He has the perfect style to lay waste to Forrest as well.

 

Gatti vs Ruelas - great short fight to watch.

Whitaker v Nazario - OMG Whitaker KO! Quality punch to finish it. Pea did have power, even if his record didn't suggest so.

 

That's the fight I always suggest when people say 'Pea was a feather fist'. He was a brutal puncher regardless, look at him beat the living **** out of Hurtado.

A spiteful *******, even if not a hard puncher.
