Inspired by a thread on here, I watched Thompson-Haye last night. The ring entrances told a story, Haye danced his way to the ring to some R&B tune, laughing and joking as he went while Thompsons face looked like thunder as he marched into the theme from Rocky.

    Lewis-Holyfield I

117-112 to Lewis. I blame Ian Darke, the ****er kept saying "Lewis is fighting an American Don King fighter on a Don King card in America" as Lewis established control.

At the final belt he was saying "Don't celebrate just yet, we don't know what the scorecards will tell us"

    The ****er jinxed it.

Compared to the recent HW stuff we've seen it wasn't that bad.

Just watched Carlos Monzon v Jean Claude Bouttier I

The 6th and 11th rounds were pretty good but the rest were fairly average. Bouttier was an awkward ****er which didn't make for an entertaining fight.

No, I don't think it's boring. It seems to be really basic but it's not. As you say he's very effective and always knows what to do. He has nice punch variation which I was slightly surprised with as he's an upright stalker.

He has a good jab and I love his straight right hand which makes for a fantastic one-two.

    yeh it is truly effective

yeh your spot on he throws alot of different punches but he can get abit predictable with the 1-2

the straight right hand is wicked but he sometimes pulls it back low (i call it swimming)

dont say anything negative about him Smith might se it

    mancini vs Deuk Koo Kim

Had never watched the fight fully, but after watching 'Triumph and Tradedy - The Ray Mancini story' it made me watch the fight.

Was a war, which is sadly tainted - like so many other great fights.

Is that the fight which led to the reduction of title fights from 15 rounds to 12 rounds?

its a great fight. Kims bravery is tremendous the gy is a warrior he really is he was weight drained but he still takes that punishment and dishes out the same. a true heart and spirit warrior. He will never be forgotton along with all the other brave fihgters who risk their lives

on the version i have it has the interviews afer the fight and Mancini is heart broken i think it was still when Kim was in a coma and Mancini is crying and his voice is cracking its sad to watch ven thinking about it is sad and the interivew after he dies is just heart breaking

    yes it is

Hopkins-Vanderpool on a RJJ undercard (mention that because B-Hop is booed throughout).

This is a proper street fight, in fact it may as well have taken place in a prison yard. Hopkins is dirty; constant low blows, head butts, wrestling moves, **** talking, lying to the ref, brilliant stuff.

Extremly scrapy fight, but there is a lot of spike between the two, and definetley worth a watch.

Watched two JC Chavez fights today - Martinez and Ruben Castillo.
Two tremendous fights - both guys start off trying to box-and-move but Chavez cuts the ring off well and forces them both to fight.
Both fights have a classic round in them (rd 5 in the Martinez fight and the last round against Castillo) and while they might not be all-time classics, they're both excellent.
