First round of Ortiz v Maidana. I think the second knock down or Maidana's first KD is probably the best KD this year. Just gets up and sweetly connects.

 

Neil Sinclair Vs Daniel Santos was a good fight is up on youtube. Never seen it before today couldn't believe Sinky floored him

 

Casamayor vs. Katsidis.

I thought this was a very good fight, on the same level as Casa-Chico 1.
Katsidis deserves a lot of credit, he's a tough competitor and really showed a lot of determination in the face of an early onslaught. Katsidis looked like he been 15 rounds with Jake La Motta, after the first round with Casa.

That said, Casa looks badly faded, he can't fight for 3 minutes a round, and his legs have gone. He can can still bang, he still has heart and the speed is still there. Katsidis swept the middle third of the fight, but I think Casa was coming back into to it, and probably would have got a close decision had it gone the distance.

That wicked left hook that ended it, was a thing of beauty.

 

Great fight Hoya. Can't believe it wasn't fight of the year. Casa was clearly not his old self but he put on a great show.

 

I watched a few Mancini fights a couple of nights ago. Chacon, Frias and Arguello very entertaining fighter (Chacon looked shot though), him and 2005 Hatton would have been a war in a phonebox.

Mancini was a good fighter in some wars. His fight with Kim is a great fight but the ending is tragic. The copy i hve has all the interviews when Kims in hospital and i was nearly in tears seeing Mancini talk about it.

Arguello is a great fight, i love the right hand that spins Mancini round.

Chacon is one of my all time favrouites love his wars. Did you think the stoppage was premature. Incidetly, Mancini never won a fight after this whereas Chacon won the title again i think

Hatton vs Mancini would have been amazing, id pick mancini though

Casa is such an experianced pro. Kinda like BHOP with his dirty tricks and veteran skills.

 

I got some Mancini fights on VHS the two fights against Bramble.

 

TBH Greg, I thought the Chacon stoppge was fine. He was getting really tagged and wasn't giving anthing back

 

Casamayor-Corrales 1 has been subject to some debate here so i thought I'd give it a watch.Corrales didn't fight a great fight,didn't cut off the ring.Stoppage was probably fair enough,the lip was bad,who'd be a doctor

I remember watching those fights on ITV World of Sport on a Saturday afternoon. Mancini was being built up as the next big money spinner outside the heavweights and Bramble derailed the plans.

 

Chacon was some fighter.

But he was saddened by the suicide of his wife, its sad to see him how he is now aswell
