I rewatched it too. I just didn't know how y'all would feel about me posting a fight so recent.

But I agree with everything you said!

Both fights were too close to call robberies though, but hard fought none the less

Depend on the angle. By the UFC judging criteria you are totally right. But if you use common sense and a little fighting knowledge you have to give it to Condit based on technique used, willingness to finish the fight and most damage done.

By the third round Hendricks looked gassed !

It was a robbery. Condit out struck him and he did whatever he wanted to on the ground.

Hendricks took him down 12 times but even the rules say something like "if you get a takedown and don't do anything with it, it didn't happen."

"High amplitude takedowns and throws which have great impact will be scored more heavily than a takedown which does not have great impact."

There was something else similar to this. I read it on the UFC's website. I can't find it right now. But it was like Dana White himself wrote it.

I went back to find them right now. I haven't seen it in probably years. But from what I remember I'd agree with what y'all said.

    Carlos Condit/Johnny Hendricks

    Round 1
The opening round was probably Hendrick's best round and I still gave it to Condit. Hendricks bruised Condit pretty quickly but Condit clearly outclassed him on the feet with feints and diverse striking.

    Fight Metric:
Condit: Sig. Strikes: 15, Total Strikes: 25
Hendricks: Sig. Strikes: 14, Total Strikes: 22

Hendricks landed 4 takedowns but didn't do anything. And I mean that. Hendricks literally hits Condit just FIVE times on the ground. Hendricks would eventually just let Condit up because he's eating too many Condit elbows.

    Verdict: Condit

    Round 2
Hendricks is slowing down. Condit is obviously the better striker and showcasing that. Again, Condit's diverse striking over Hendricks landed one left at a time.

    Fight Metric had it close.
    Condit: Sig.: 13, Total: 24
    Hendricks: Sig.: 12, Total: 26

Hendricks hardly controls the pace this round. Hendricks takes Condit down another 4 times but, again, lands like 5 pitter patter punches on the ground the entire round. And always let's Condit up when he gets tired of eating those elbows from the bottom.

Condit is making Hendricks look like an amateur during the scrambles.

Verdict: MAYBE a toss up. But I'd give it to Condit.

    Round 3
Okay, now I'm pissed. Hendricks takes Condit down 4 times but stalls. This round, Condit isn't just 'active' off his back -- he's totally ****ing Hendricks up from the bottom. Hendricks is pouring blood all over Condit.

The Fight Metric numbers say it all..
Condit: Sig. Strikes:14, Total Strikes: 45
    Hendricks: Sig.: 4, Total: 21

29-28 for Carlos Condit AT WORST. I say 30-27.

Rogan and Goldberg were especially awful during that one.

Rogan manages to point out when Hendricks punches Condit's leg.. His leg!

My (sober) next day re-watch was 2-1 Condit.

Drunk scores are the way it should be done. Adelaide Bird on half a bottle of Jagermeister might actually score a card correctly...

A drunk Kim Winslow would spend a round dancing around her handbag and telling Alex Caceres how much she loves his hair
