When in the history of the sport have fighters not had a promoter, and operate solely on the decisions of an "advisor" The guy is not interested in working with anyone else The guy is not interested in putting together the best fights WTF?!?!?!?!?
The guy is playing both manager and promoter roles. This is ilegal in the Us. Not sure.how.he.is getting away with it.
It makes no sense how this is happening, something has to give. I'm almost as equally resentful towards the fighters who are going along with this. I understand they need to look out for themselves from a financial stand point, but they can do that without ****ting all over the fans and sport
What I think is the strangest facet of all of this, is that Haymon seems to have fanboys who champion his decisions and defend him to the hilt. Wherever your fighter allegiances lie should not cloud your vision to the fact that Al Haymon has no interest in making the fights that people want to see. Promoters have been corrupt and self-serving for years, but the fights still used to get made. That's why people refer to them as the golden years. Nowadays, the norm is to not get excited about any potential mega fight because you know it has major impediments to getting made. Since ODLH has come out and become friendly with Arum again, with both showing willingness to make fights happen, Haymon's situation seem indefensible - he was evidently the underlying root cause.
He's the Elephant in the room just throwing his weight around first casualty GB I'm sure HBO and Showtime are watching close because of the deal between Haymon and ABC no more inflated PPV guys.
As bad as scumbag Dana White Awful tranny lover who makes Danny Garcia fight salka Mayweather fight Guerrero Worst thing to ever happen in boxing
Haymons approach to the sport reminds me of a relationship between a crack dealer to a addict. He's making bank by having his fighters fight bums, cause he knows there are people out there who will watch anyway. He has no interest in improving the quality of the sport, just lining his pockets with the money of fans who will keep watching regardless of the quality of the product. The fact he does not talk to the media proves that even he knows what he's doing is wrong.
I'm holding on to very little hope that Haymon will put together some good fights. With boxing on a decline, having control over many of boxing's best talent along with the NBC deal, it would behoove him to put some decent fights together. There's no way GarciavsSalka is allowed to fly over +30x....
In truth,Espinoza on behalf of Showtime were the enablers in this situation.Espinoza clinging to his job and will do anything to save him from going down in flames.A terrible hiring choice by Showtime and the bosses at CBS.:deal
