The whole Mayweather Khan via Vargas thing...

    Am i missing something? why does Mayweather keep saying that Khan has to beat Jessie Vargas in order to get a fight with himself?

    Is it something as simple as Floyd getting Vargas' name into the public domain, or does he generally see Vargas as a player at 140?

    As far as i can see (and i haven't personally seen him fight - just going off boxrec etc) Vargas has done nothing, beat nobody and doesn't deserve a shot at a belt yet. The guy seems to be nothing more than a solid prospect with Mayweathers name behind him.

    Is there anything else in this, or is Mayweather just being a **** as usual?

    its just a way of getting Vargas name out there as he is a Mayweather promotions fighter.

    he wouldnt not be a bad WW debut for Khan to be fair.

    I can't imagine that Khan will fight anyone who doesn't have a strap.

    Brook needs to hurry up and go after Pacquiao. Then when he smashes him and Amir finishes Floyd, Brook and Khan can fight as the P4P #1 and 2 in the world :deal

    Vargas is fighting on the Mayweather under card and it will be shown live against a decent fighter, so I'll reserve any major judgement untill then about him.

    I agree that Khan's first fight at welter will be for a strap.

    Khan will likely fight his first welter fight at around April and Brook fights in October.... I'm sensing Brook and team will be angling for a title fight after his next fight but he'll need to fit it in a few months before April or May if they are serious for a Khan fight.

    Brook vs Sechenko (sp?) Then Brook vs Khan is my prediction.

    i really don't think Khan fights Brook for the foreseeable future. Maybe 2 or 3 years down the line. But not yet.
