Certainly, after getting decked hard by a relatively light-punching fighter, Williams' chin should certainly be considered suspect. Whether it proves worse than that in the future remains to be seen.

I don't regard Margarito as a real puncher. Give me James Kirkland. He would beat Paul Williams to death.

Paul Williams has the ring intelligence of Jermain Taylor, and his trainer is delusional. Consequently Williams would stand in front of Pavlik in full agreement with a war of attrition. That's not how you beat Kelly Pavlik, but it is the right way to have Pavlik ruin the rest of your career.

This is his weakness, he can be hit cleanly, and i think Pavlik just hits to hard for him. This is why i pick Pavlik to win.

Paul Williams chin has never really been tested. He got hit by Martinez, who's not noted for his power and got hurt. The fact that Martinez didn't really have that killer instinct when he had Williams hurt, as he never follows up after hard shots to PW, he instead decided to clench and wrestle. I believe that so much clenching and wrestling caused Martinez the decision.

Instead of clenching so much, Martinez should have gone for the knock out.

    my bad
the thing is tho.... this weakness is mostly evident on movers because paul doesnt take his time when pressuring... he lunges way to wrecklessly... so all you have to do is move out of the way and his balance is off usually so he cant draw his hands back in time to defend himself... very bad habit

against fighters who fight str8 up & down.. north & south... he can get away with this because they cant counter...

Mayweather should have been counted as a knock down because of his gloves touching, my he never tased the canvas.

Taking a clean shot and getting hurt off it does not mean your chinny. Also , Williams has decent power when he puts his full leverage into it , but he prefares to box then slow down and turn into the shots.

In this topic. Boxers should not get hurt in a fight.
